I've been thinking about this issue ever since I first saw the 'Vengeance Dad' memes.
I think 'Insanity Wolf' would make a good GB member. "Rape = fornication? What is this "fornication" you speak of?" "Became circuit overseer--recommended my good buddies Shechem and Amnon as elders".
'Philosoraptor' could ask good questions about doctrine. "If the faithful slave didn't know what it was until last year, did Jesus wait 93 years to tell them?" "If in vitro fertilization can be fornication, did I become gay when I gave my urologist a sperm sample?"
...But I trust you're looking for something more specific. This is a good idea. "One does not simply question the faithful slave. One does not simply promise that millions now living will never die. One does not simply claim Jerusalem was destroyed 20 years before it actually was in the face of all historical evidence to the contrary..."

Bear in mind that when they say this, they don't actually believe their audience is considered as God's children at all. So "our" could--could--mean "their" Heavenly Father....

Because obviously, he's going to love 99.9% of humanity to death at Armageddon, right? Without power, there'd be nothing to back his rule up with. Love alone would render him impotent. I call b.s. This isn't about love. This is about fear, and you can't inspire fear without power--without the belief that you have power.

by punkofnice ini remember having been to a convention or a$$emby for however many days and when i came back i didn't want to go back to work/school because i felt on a buzz.. what was that all about????.
any ideas?

Yeah, I remember those days. Going home and feeling both energized to do more, and utterly overwhelmed at just how hopeless it all was. Eventually, the sexual tension would build up, and that was the end of that. Self-abuse, guilt, shame, repeat.
Just being exposed to the outside world made it all quite impossible to hold onto. For me, it was like squeezing a spring too tightly, to use that old 'Your Youth' book illustration. Being surrounded by nothing but JW stuff was...you had all this pressure to live up to it.

Interesting moment on subway today & other thoughts

we made eye contact, but i hope i didn't glare at her or anything... since i was already having a bout with depression today, it didn't help to see her.
so then she gets off the train, right?
