  Anyone busted on apostate site. JCs how are they handled.

  i'm just wondering has any body ever been busted on an apostate site because someone was able to identify them because of something they wrote.

  why i ask this question is because how would this be explained at a jc.

  because the person who reported it to the jc was reading something that they shouldn't of.

  I would guess that in such a scenario, the person ratting you out can simply claim not to believe a word of the apostate website and--perhaps--have noticed something odd about something you said to them, and accidentally stumbled across this website where you were engaging in apostate reasoning. As long as they're turning you in, the elders probably won't care that the stool pigeon(s) were on the site themselves so long as they answer the loyalty question in the affirmative. --sd-7

  Where Does Material Success Come From - The Devil or God?

  how can you tell if your business successes are coming from satan or god?

  because if your work gets real busy and you miss some meetings and/or fs, is that how you tell that it's from satan?

  but then if you contribute a big amount every week, is it from jehovah?

  Apparently it's both. The WTS has tons of real estate, and that's a blessing from above, a sign that God trusts them. If you get an awesome piece of real estate, you're not 'making sure of the more important things' and it's from Satan. It's all a matter of who stands to benefit from it the most.

  Anyone who has stayed a couple of years around there knows that the organization is full of good and at atimes wonderful people

  I absolutely agree. There are plenty of good people still on the inside. It's usually the higher you go up the food chain, the more you notice behavior or words that reflect some of the more spiritually abusive stuff that's in the literature (and a reflection on the leadership, and hey, even some of them may be good people, but when they join forces, look out world). But again, not always.

  It can be difficult to separate out the good people because it gets a little gray when all of them participate in abusive behaviors, whether willingly and consciously or not. Still, it's not so much the people in it as it is the system as a whole that's the problem. I do hope I've not contributed to intellectually dishonest argumentation here; I'd be the first to admit my logic isn't as airtight as I'd prefer, but people here are pretty good at calling you out if you've stuck your foot in your mouth.

  My Jehovah's Witness broke up with me :(

  a few months ago, the jws came knocking on my door (see thread).. this discussion continued and the next time she brought a man along with her.

  i told them that i'd study with them if they could prove to me god exists and the bible was his book.

  for our next visit, only the man showed up.

  another problem with the new FDS doctrine

  the issue july 15th 2013 changes the understanding of the fds dramatically, and it was broiught out here and on other places this creates numerous problems.. here is another one:.

  jesus is supposed to be the head of the congregation.

  when something goes wrong, he is often portrayed as the one having control over his congregation and also that in time he will act, clean the congo and direct elders (being the stars in his hand).

  But if you pick one up today the handling fee will be reduced to $8 so do the math brothers and save,,because both our time and our assets should be to praise Jehovah and lift up our heads because deliverence is getting closer and closer.

  LOL!!! I was reading this in my 'convention speaker' voice and then I got to this part and it just got to be too hilarious! Ha ha ha! Can I incorporate that into a future issue of The Beast-Tower?

  Niece: I'm too young to date!

  my 20 year old niece and my mom are the only jw relatives i have.

  her mom got kicked out for smoking and my brother ended the marriage because she was a bitch anyway.. but it's really unfortunate that my niece had to be dragged into the jws.

  i really wish my brother would have put the brakes on it more.

  The biggest problem I see with the whole JW dating life is that typically you do NOT end up dating multiple people, and therefore you don't learn about yourself and what you actually like in the opposite sex. When a JW starts dating, their hormones take over all brain activity.

  Yeah. That's spot-on. It was the one thing that frustrated me most when I pondered the concept of dating as a young adult JW in my 20s and read the 'Young People Ask' book. Hormones take over when you think someone likes you and you really want to get physical with 'em, but you can't. And then...if you break up with them, you worry there won't be another person, and, well, I know for me I got really fixated on a person who clearly wasn't right for me by any stretch of the imagination. And I was so terrified of the opposite sex that I never really got to know a lot of young women and thus didn't really get a serious look at my options before settling down.

  I guess, much as I hate to admit it, young people are so irrational that they kind of need a time where they get all of the sexual thoughts and feelings a bit more out of their system and get past that so they can appreciate the more important stuff for when they want to seriously pursue marriage. Repressing those feelings, to me, at least, makes objectively dating someone with a goal of marriage very difficult. They'd have been better off simply letting the old folks arrange the marriages--which they seem intent on doing anyway, one way or the other...

  But it's clear that this is a side of my former self I have never attempted to deconstruct objectively. It may well be more important than anything else I've done so far, to address all of that. But hey, this thread ain't about me.

  I can't blame you, as far as not attending the possible future wedding at a KH. Those were my least favorite events when I was younger...

  Do you think "Blondie" is addicted to reading Watchtowers and Awakes?

  i remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.

  i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.

  i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

  Well, I can't speak for Blondie--she spoke eloquently for herself, and in my opinion, just totally dunked on you and is like, hanging on the back of your neck, which makes for a magnificent photo op, I might add--but to an extent, I know I can't seem to shake reading their stuff. It's not a way of 'still being in' so much as it's a process that, for me, I feel like it's a monitoring of the machine. I need to know what my family is being exposed to, and I also need to remind myself why I made the decision to leave--this entity has a powerful pull on the mind, and it's critical for me, being a sensitive person, to keep reminding myself to be strong, to remember what they did and are doing, and to never let them dupe me into returning.

  I also need to fully understand what was done to me, in the decades I was amongst them. The literature is the best way to deconstruct all that, at least now that I know how they think, more or less.

  But absolutely, I enjoy Blondie's threads on the weekly study articles and usually try to read and comment on 'em if I can. She's one of my favorite posters especially because she's so expert at having great WT quotes to demonstrate the error of their reasoning or contradictions or etc. If I had half the brain power she's got...I'd be awfully happy.

  Out of the corner of my eye, my wife, who was taking notes, looked up quickly, as if in shock at the statement, then glanced over at me.

  This is a hopeful sign. Sometimes the exit process is the accumulation of a steady drip of unusual statements that don't fit with one's reality. It's always possible to just pour oneself into more activities to reduce the dissonance, but it could also go the other way and she could start to wake up. [In Christopher Lee voice:] "I hope so...for yooour sake."

  I think to since it was the public talk they were kissing up to the visiting bible studies knowing that the rank and file will not take the bait.

  Yup. Public Edition talk, in a Study Edition convention...
