Views on handing out literature during field service

it is brought to my attention that some non jw's deliberately accept jw literature just to throw it in the bin.. their intentions are perceived as positive meaning these non jw's throwing their magazines away is a good thing.. what is your view on the matter?.

should they accept or not accept their literature, and why?.

is accepting literature benefiting or damaging the cult, and why?.

Does it really matter what the people on the cart think.As an extreme example if every single magazine and booklet and flyer was taken from a cart,just so that people could throw them in the trash and that happend every day for a whole year but not one person came on a sunday or got baptized the only differance would have been that headquaters would have paid $$$$$ to print and transport all the magazines and books

taking literature is bad for the cult because it all has to be paid for by headquarters and when a member of the governing body has been on the web saying that they have got more money going out then coming in then to me that says that money is tight.It depends where you live a friend in the uk was telling me that all their "what does the bible really teach " books are printed in new york and then have to be shipped to the uk and then transported 100s of miles all over the uk.Also in the uk all their foreign langue versions of "what does the bible really teach" are printed in germany.How much does it cost to transport books from new york to the west coast

Cart Witnessing - Thrilling! Productive! Epic! Er.....um, well, not so much.....

talked with a pioneer recently, she was recounting her first experience with cart witnessing.. she brought the subject up, was going on & on & on & on about how wonderful the experience was, and how great, and how she enjoyed it so much, and it was so wonderful, and oh jehovah's blessing, and on and on and on...... a few questions to her revealed what really happened:.

-- a jw who owns a small restaurant in a strip mall allows jws to set up their cart outside his restaurant.

-- the restaurant is tucked pretty far out of the way, not prominent at all.

i like the carts its more easy to take the teaching books and put them in the trash my record is 101 "what does the bible really teach" books disposed of in one week

this is a really deep burning topic to me as i'm sure it is to many of you.

so today the gloves came off.

Trolley Stands Up, Door-to-Door Work Down?

several threads have discussed the increased use of of the trolley work by witnesses in various countries (e.g, australia, new zealand, the states, canada and britain to name a few).

several posters have described trolley settings as largely ignored by passersby and/or the witnesses immersed in everything other than appearing ready and waiting to make contact with passersby.

what impact will this increased shift to trolley work have on the hallmark feature of jws, their door-to-door work?

the trolley dolly have to be veted by their elders and are given tips what to say and do and not say and do and its a good excuse to use up all the books etc just this week ive seen a trolley full of teaching books from 2006 and the OLD VERSION of "what does the bible really teach"

Bethel Meeting at Regional Convention

i decided to go to the bethel recruiting meeting yesterday to test out my theory that the organization is in decline.

i assumed that if there is a general feeling of apathy by many in the org, then certainly it would be shown up by the lack of enthusiasm or zeal by many to sign up for bethel service.

well let me say that based on what i observed, this organization is not going anywhere.

how many people work at bethel etc in new york now, i have heard about a 1000 so in due time they will need people to replace the ones who leave or die just to keep the wheels turning

Kingdom Hall Money Grab Was for Child Abuse Its Completely Clear

if youve followed the news lately there are more and more child abuse cases popping up.

one lawyer said he has over 28 cases in the pipeline that are going to be coming out soon.

on december 1 st a new one just popped up.

they have closed 20 headquaters around the world and moving from prime spots in new york and london.And also these past months have been in two big citys giving out teaching books that were printed in 2006 and just this week they are still giving out the OLD VERSION of the "what does the bible really teach" books

when it comes to the scientologist movement, many are aware that, due to their money, power, and influence, it may not be the best idea to mess with the group for fear of libel claims and legal action.. .

a new scientology documentary, which was due to be aired in britain by sky atlantic, has now been banned for fears it will ruffle the wrong feathers.. the new film, directed by alex gibney, which claims that scientologys practices at their u.s. headquarters were abusive and violent, is shelved due to the fact that northern ireland is not subject to the 2013 defamation act.. john travolta, a scientologist himself, also slammed the new film, speaking to reporters about it, he said, ive been so happy with my experience in the last 40 years...that i really dont have anything to say that would shed light on (a documentary) so decidedly negative.. the leaders of the scientology church have also condemned the film about them, saying it is, one-sided, bigoted propaganda built on falsehoods and informed by former members whom it calls misfits.'.

No More Money!

as of this june (i've already given my may contributions which are substantial) i am no longer giving money to support useless building projects that serve no good purpose.

i am no longer giving money at conventions or assemblies.

i am no longer giving money toward the circuit overseers upkeep.

did you see the happy video from bethel, they had dentists etc on the video (i wonder if the 900 people who work at bethel have to pay for their dental care) also it looked like they had cobblers there as well. would they let any old or sick poblishers from new york to have free dental care at bethel??????

people can be as comited as they like but if the jws have no money then ir really makes things difficult eg they have closed 20 branch offices down acording to the jw website and if they keep having child abuse cases,in the uk they have got possibly 6 new cases coming up.and acording to steven letts their is more money going out than coming in.what would happen if they have to sell bethel in new york off,woops they have had to do that already :-)
