i hope this is the correct category..... since pets are kinda sorta like "family", anyway..... a friend of mine (who lives about 25 miles away, in the center of the city) recently lost her beloved six-year-old spayed female daschund doggie under very tragic circumstances.. her other dog, an eight-year-old neutered male daschund, has been inconsolable since her loss.
so my friend decided to adopt another small dog - a spayed female daschund - one that was rescued from a breeder..... this poor little dog has lived in a cage for her entire life!!!
all six years of her life - in what was, in effect, a doggie concentration camp.... she is not "socialized" in any way, shape or form.
I agree with you completely.. I can't believe how people treat those dogs :(
The best place to find a dog is at the local shelter. I got a doggie about 4 months ago and he is WONDERFUL. But I know he probably would have been put down had we not picked him up.
I am so happy to hear the doggie is recovering! The article I linked talks about not taking her anywhere and keeping visitors to a minimum if possible. Just like if you brought home a new baby I think ;)

it seems that there are a lot of ex-jw facebook groups but i am wary of joining them since i have a lot of dubbie friends still.
google+ seems to have a better contact management system where you have different "circles" of friends who can never see each other (i am aware that facebook has a similar thing, but apparently its not foolproof).. so is there any ex-jw happenings on google+ ?.

i am infp.. some former witnesses in my hometown had a meetup last night...alas, only four of us.
but it turned out we had an infp(me), two infjs, and an enfp.
therefore, it turned out we were all idealists.
Being an INFP in the organization was tough. Being introverted, field service was torture. Neither did I like judging people, either in the organization or without, and it bothered my how much I saw. Sometimes I felt the Society had a war on imagination, not only in restricting entertainment, but having such a rigid regiment that had to be adhered to. And any feelings a person had were shoved aside as unimportant. 'Principle' came first, but usually the principle was whatever legalistic interpretations that Society had cooked up.
Same experience with me too. And I am an INFP with a capital "P" for Procrastination. The WT is created for the "J"s, meaning the folks who enjoy completing tasks and are driven to acheive. I was soooo not interested in the treadmill of it all, and subsequently Always felt like a big slacker. I had many worries that because I didn't like to study or go out in service that if armageddon came I was toast. Also being an INFP who is also called the peacemaker, I learned to keep opinions and feelings to myself. Very unhealthy and I am dealing with the backlash of this now. I know a couple of other witness INFPs and they have become very strange from their years of dealing with this lifestyle.
