i just saw this on the news tonight.

looks like this is the first time in america that a higher-ranking church official has been charged with covering up child abuse by shuffling offending priests around.

this could set a powerful precedent.

hello, i am doing some research on 1975 again, and i came across this on a couple different sites:.

are we to assume from this study that the battle of armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long-looked-for thousand-year reign of christ will begin by then?

possibly, but we wait to see how closely the seventh thousand-year period of man's existence coincides with the sabbathlike thousand-year reign of christ.

have been doing some enlightening reading today about what the psychological community dubs as "foreclosed identities.

" this is where you never reach the identity creation phase due to another's (usually your parents) beliefs being forcefully imposed upon you.. this is a very interesting article from a psychologist's point of view.

his example is a highly religious person.

i just read this on the website reddit.com, about a teenager's experience with being kidnapped from his parents house and drove to this "academy.

" also later on he mentions that it is in the nevada desert near area 51 and so you are very isolated and can't easily escape.

also your parents sign over 51% custody to this group.

How did you change after you left?

i have been pondering how destructive cults tend to try to model a personality type for their members as described in combatting cult mind control.

i know i have a few personality traits that seem to be a direct result of this.

i was a born-in member, and now that i have been faded for a little while i am starting to see these personality traits that need to be corrected such as keeping quiet so as not to offend others and also not putting much weight in my own opinion.

Any ex-jw action on Google plus?

i have a google + account and a facebook account.

it seems that there are a lot of ex-jw facebook groups but i am wary of joining them since i have a lot of dubbie friends still.

google+ seems to have a better contact management system where you have different "circles" of friends who can never see each other (i am aware that facebook has a similar thing, but apparently its not foolproof).. so is there any ex-jw happenings on google+ ?.
