Were You Afraid To Talk Out Loud For Fear The Demons Might Hear You?
by minimus ini know of many witnesses that were petrified that if they spoke about something out loud, the demons.

Yeah I did I believed though that Jehovah was protecting me sence I was doing good and after I prayed for forgiveness when I did or said bad things.
I was called to attention by the Demons (the elders told me) when I acted on my sinful thoughts and that the demons were attacking me. So when I was disfellowshipped (the first time) I thought I was exposed to the demons the whole experiance and that nothing mattered what I did that still I was under demon rule, so I spoke freely and act out my true feelings. In reality it wasn't that complicating and when I found out I posessed the power of self control and respect, I grew up from all that and changed for the better.

Has anyone ever felt they were possessed by a demon?
by dissed init was the "in-thing" to happen to sinners in jesus' time, being possessed.
some could boast they had legions of demons calling their body home.. it was also a primary miracle for the top christians to perform, ridding demons away, proof you had god's spirit.
"be gone you demon!!".

slimboyfat, that story to your link was very scary. I read it and had chills, I also have watched the exorcist and omg I had bad dreams, actually I watch alot more scary shows I never would have before but because of my fiance who finds it intriguing I watch them. He is so into them and he also likes to take trips to true haunted places and penitentiaries were there is supposed paranormal activity. He's curiousity scares me. I know he has a great uncle who preforms exorcisms, he is a missionary and has traveled to africa and verious places. He has stories that I have not heard of but has told to my fiance's mother that put fear in her. My curiousity is not the extreme measures my fiance takes but enough that I watch or learn how it works.
My mom and grandfather said they have experianced what they call evil spirits. I guess my great great great grandmother was an cherokee indian witch doctor and that some of her items were posessed to it caused unual things to happen.
I still have yet to see it and believe enough to know not to incourage deep retualistic acts. I am scared of (the paranormal idea) what I don't understand. But it does not stop me from doing some research on the subject.

"From the fruit of his words a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hand comes back to him. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice....He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city." (PR.12:14-15,16:32).
I think of this with good men like Ray...

The Moral Life
by Butterflyleia85 in"the moral life a thematically arranged anthology of philosophical readings, contains an unusually wide range of topics including religion, sexual relations, capital punishment, and genectic engineering.
steve luper and curtis brown have expanded the readings for the second edition to include full introductory chapter on ethical theory and a new chapter on terrorism.
new selections throughout the text include writing from confucius, hinayana and mahayana scriptures, walter block, and michael walzer.. the moral life features wide coverage of many topics; chapter introductions that describe the readings and place them in a rhetorical framework, a good balance of opposing points of view and end of chapter questions.".

Funny how my family acts when it comes to ALCOHOL
by Butterflyleia85 inso yesterday my fiance (nonjw) and i went to my mom's for dinner and invited my sister's husband and her as well.
it was a nice visit but i couldn't help but notice a watchtower that had in bold letters alcohol on her coffee table.
i didn't make a comment but just chucked in my head as i recall my mom's "drinking" (as far as problem i'm not sure) but as dinner begin my mom offered beer which then i realize now her thinking, she is leading to the idea of moderation and that watchtower is there as her reminder to keep it in moderation.. then we were getting on the subject of age.

Yes I totally believe that!
I think at one time it was a problem in our area (our congregation in a couple of surrounding congregations) then it was controled, and now that they saw the problem with it, our area is pretty strict about alcohol, that no body is seen drinking any but a little beer or wine, your not really looked good on if you order more then one drink or drinking more then one at events. I have never seen special events with members from our area have alcohol involved especially after that hugh problem (I heard about it when I was 16). You would more then likely get teased or stared down.
But when I turned 21 I was the only one in my hall expect a few that was old enough to drink and all the older adults (late 40s & older) looked down on going out and drinking except my mom. So when I found out that down in Indianapolis and Southport area it was totally different. I also found out a few surrounding towns had a few elders that took drinking more casually. I also saw more hypocrisy and teens or younger adult abusing this freedom or nonjudgmental view on drinking to extreme. The reality was after people got word of my lax sociel entertainment alot more JW from my own area started inviting me over to hang out and have a few drinks. This is where it all was sorta an eye opener... how a person can be so secretive and live double lives in the light of shunning such drinking in public and then going home and doing it themselves.
But I would still like to think... over powering control doesn't help the person to grow and learn, yet I do believe in eduating and letting the younger learn for themselves (abuse can come in anyform). It's like this guard or fear a person holds inside puts a henderance instead of helping, but I'm not sure sence I haven't seen much positive or honest play in this... I see where all this should be more of a personal decision and if the problem leads to self abuse or harm to family then some sorta intervintion would be smart.
