Mad Sweeney it the challenge I'm willing to take. Hopefully with proof and loving heart I can reach my family more this way.

Thanks at least this time I know both sides of the story and it will help me make better judgement in what to beleive and what to take for a grain of salt. I roll my eyes at some things said but do feel better knowing I'm getting my bible read. Right now we are in 2 Kings.
My husband thinks I'm crazy for going back but he understands why. He said "I just don't want to loss you to a cult", I told him I done anough research that I know now what is important and it won't be able to take my heart from doing what is right.

I bet people has forgotten me but that’s ok because I know they have helped me a lot on here.
Anyways I think the last time I been on here I mentioned my JW sister not going to my wedding. For those that do remember my story, the wedding was beautiful on the beach in Key West, FL! I loved it, regardless of none of my family except my mom came. It was my dream come true.
My family still don’t talk to me except my mom and a few family members that never became JW but were raised and understand some what. So I’m happy with the family I have… well I guess I should be. One day I thought though about the family that isn’t a part of my life anymore.
It won… In my head I’m thinking… freedom or my whole family. Well that’s what did it… I been going back to the meetings for about a month in my New Hall and actually it’s not that bad. For being Dfed they are actually pretty friendly. I know in my heart God has already forgiven me so I don’t really feel the need to go back but once I did I realized the part I have been missing the reading the bible, everyone’s comments and answers and last but not least the Singing! Ha I love singing, I’m not to into the new songs though but I love singing our old ones it was so emotional kinda.

Do I say I can’t really see what elders do anymore to help people? They are overworked automatons who barely have time for their own and certainly no time for others. They preside over mind numbing meetings and judicial committees.
What do you say at the doors anymore? Come over and join my religion where we all truly love one another? Come over to where we teach the Truth about the Bible and the end of the World, until it’s time to change what we believe?
Is this God’s Organization? Can you tell by the people? The truth is I know a few JW’s who are the most wonderful, spiritual people I’ve ever known. (Can’t the same be said though of other organizations? Do you think that JW’s have a monopoly on wonderful people? They would have you think so. )
What’s also true is that the most rotten, hateful, and despicable things ever done to me and my family have been done by JW’s. The sad part is the latter group far outnumbers the former. At least that’s my opinion.
So where does that leave us? I can’t prove anything but my gut feeling is that a vast number of the 7 million people associating with JW are lost with nowhere else to go. They are going through the motions because they don’t know what else to do and to do nothing reaps dire consequences. They won’t say because it means expulsion. So, we suffer in silence. Including me. How can this be true when it is God’s Organization?
All good Questions. I use to have the same thing come upon me every now and then when I was in. But it grew heavy when I felt like I had the power to do what I want! It's crazy but I went through the motions beleiving that it will all work out in the end and I knew more then most unbeleivers! Ha How truely ignorate I was. Now it's all change and wow... after reading some of what you said sounds like you exposed yourself to some understanding of what repretion does to a person... put them in control and if I knew what I know now... as do you... I would have gotten out along time ago but preached these to my close family that would listen to me... now that I'm out they wouldn't dare to descuss spiritual things. and it's not a stumble it's the truth! (sigh) if only they could understand...

Ray Franz - Points in " Christian Freedom " book- " The Recurring Pattern"
by flipper inas we all mourn ray's passing last week - i think it's good to remember some awesome points he brought out in defining a " recurring pattern " of control and dominance that the wt society has exercised over it's members the last 130 + years.
so as i'm reading his second book right now " in search of christian freedom " there are some revealing nuggets i wanted to share with you all.. in the chapter entitled " the recurring pattern " it states about c.t.

Ha I think it's more like they are waiting on God's great plan even though God created our brains... dare we use it out side of his thinking! BS Thank you Ray Franz for reviling the truth to those who needed a way out!! God created our brains for a reason... so we should use it and not fear man!
RIP Ray Franz ... his conscience is clean and God Bless.
I bought the COC for my mother. She said thank you. Even though I feared her reaction... she smiled and excepted it. She said I made sence and agreed with me. I have hope for my family yet!

Honestly I don't think the "Generation" cares! I asked my pineering sister about this and she said, "I never really studied it." They over look the whole thing. If it's confusing, heck they just pass it aside. Or let me say pass it on to the next door. They have no clue what they teach, they just teach it.

Welcome and thank you for sharing your experience. To say one thing and do another... that's sometimes what you get from other Brother & Sisters I recall when being JW... it's disappointing I would have to agree.

what is best to use to help my kids out? What does a teenager need to hear?
by Aussie Oz innow that i have secured more time with my children and i have established my interest in the religious side of their lives i wonder what is best next.. what sort of material is best to use to get them thinking?
i want to get them thinking.. what sort of real truths matter to teens in the jws these days?.
i know that they dont beleive everything, such as shunning and that worldly people are all bad.

If anything allowing them to be themselves and encouraging their talents out side of the spiritual walls of JW. Focus on being supportive and yet also encouraging them to be a good person. My fiance who isn't JW has this book on Ethics and Ethical Theory... basicly what he had to read in college. It was the use of good in human nature... Anyways just keep it simple for them in their teenage years and fun! This is the prim years of learning and growing... finding individualty yet a place in this world.

Agree with Scarred for life.
Social life! Friends and being excepted. Being looked at as a cool yet good person. Freedom in a sence of individuality... but not so much out of the social click.
