  My kids are never quiet when I need them to be. And they sleep in during the week and make us all late, and NEVER on the weekends when we can get more sleep.

  The Truman Show

  i know this has been discussed before, and it's the inspiration for mickey mouse's avatar.... i watched the truman show last night, and the parallels with life as a jw struck me.

  truman thinks his world is real, but it's an illusion, part of an elaborate hoax.

  the clues are all around him that things are not quite right: his distant wife; running into his dead father in the street; the strange messages he picks up on his car radio talking about him and watching his movements.

  That movie was such a huge thing for me. At the time I related it to the fact that my entire family operated in a way that no one spoke about the fact we grew up around and enduring molestation, it was just never spoken about. I drew the parallels there....but now, it's impossible to see that the true parallel is to the organization, and because of their rules and guidelines, my families past as well. I absolutely LOVE that movie.

  I was watching the previews for the last season of LOST and was thinking it too is a lot like the Org in that groups of people believe that they must do specific things for the benefit of themselves and others, for their own salvation. Everyone has a varying degree of needing to do something, or protect something, or their own angle, and it's all for not. Like puppets on a string in my opinion. I find it facinating, and also validating that THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE, is how we were all duped, or snowed to believe. It held an importance, or we were born in an were fed the lines and the guilt...all of it. It's just so easy to see now that I'm out.

  And Jamie, you always have something so thoughtful to add when I post. Thank you! This issue we are mentioning was what got them kicked off the property last time they stopped by. At least they haven't tried that trick again, I'd call the cops. They were warned.

  Call them back? No way. I'm not into fighting with them, and that's all it would be...a fight. I've learned a lot from this site, and others like it, and became a lot more confident in what I believe and think. I will not play their game, and if push comes to shove I'll use that legal letter about defamation.

  i just found out the sicko that molested my friend, his daughters, grand-daughter, and others just got reinstated.

  i haven't followed the generation change in the doctrine that closely, just read a few snippets of the overlapping generations doctrine.

  i find this hard to believe even for the pathological liars the governing body.. has anyone seen the 4/15/2010 watchtower with their own eyes?.

  can anyone validate that the wtbts really is saying this overlapping generation idea the way it is being quoted on the internet in a few places?

  I had my cousin come in from out of town a week ago, and we ran with that phrase pretty hard. It was actually pretty funny.

  Hey...you'd do well to take the bread out of the oven

  EVIDENTLY, it's time for another cocktail.

  HOWEVER, and trained Christian conscience would CLEARLY never do THIS.

  It has been since October that we've heard from the, how is it termed WTWizard? Hounders? Yes, those people, despite the fact that last time we spoke I very dramatically told them to get off my lawn, and not to come back. Since at that visit they found out at that my youngest childs birthday was indeed celebrated, with no beheading, but still, and since we've celebrated wicked Halloween, Horrible Christmas, my birthday...who knows if they know all that....they have now called my husband. The message went something like this:

  "Hey, ummm, ______, Brother COBE wants to get together with you and well, we need to clear a few things up. Maybe we could meet at the Kingdom Hall, and well anyway, just give us a call back so we can get this taken care of"

  So either

  a) CO is comin' round tha mountain as he comes (sing along with me)....or

  b)my oldest child putting it in the face of my mother the fact that she's never been happier, and that we've just had our best 1st Christmas...or

  c)they think that we can be reactivated. I feel like charcoal. (I'm sure the nurses on the board will catch that one)

  In related news, I felt such a huge wave of laughter come over me when my husband played the voicemail! While we wish Brother Newly Appointed Elder that used to be our good friend wasn't the one doing the hounding, we felt it was utterly funny that they are even trying.

  Deny that a member of the congregation touched our children in an inappropriate way? SURE we want to be in your congregation...absofreakinlutely. Gimme a break.

  I'll update as warranted.
