i have been investigated to death....and it just hit me that i dont think the word is even mentioned in the bible...jesus message was so much about love...yet jws seem to be more interested in investigating anything they deem as wrongdoing!
where did this need for constant investigations come from when i dont really see it in the bible?....not that i believe a word of it anyway...but geeze how did they become a religion of detectives or keystone cops???
?...........oompa.

Its amazing how far I've come, and my husband and kids as well. Still not Df'd though! Completely shunned by all we ever knew though.
my wife gets emails from someone who is serving in another country.. he keeps on referring to brothers/sisters who are 'need greaters'.. if they are actually using this expression then i have to say that it is the stupidest 'title' that they have ever dreamed up.
so full of their own self importance.. need greaters?..............
.
My brother in law went to the Dominic Republic as a need greater....it was said that the local congregation they went to "serve" would say, listen, you came here to preach, not SURF where the need was greater.
Insinuating that people would go there and start enjoying their paradise a little early ;)
stretching and yawning, blinking my eyes............
Nope. Nobody here. ;) Welcome back Beks, back to lurking. I figured if the monkey can break a fast, so can I....for a minute.
i got to thinking about death the other day, now that holloween is here.
this thought is only in reference to dying before armeggedon.. they idea of heaven and hell, in the non-jw christian world is: if your good you go to heaven.
if your bad you go to hell.
Well, if a kid gets murdered, that sucks really bad. You can hate the dude, you could kill or torture the dude, you could die trying to hunt down the dude...but none of those things answer to whether there is a heaven or hell, or to where the child went to once his body was killed.
Who really knows.
Spend too much time trying to figure out what happens after, you miss NOW.

Asking what else there is, well it's like saying you've only experienced bananas and apples, and therefore can't imagine there being other fruit.
Talk to someone who has been dead, and now isn't, then tell me we even are sure of heaven and hell.
Until then, I'd prefer to think anything is possible, but it has nothing to do with Heaven and Hell, operated by people/beings/entities we've never been personally contacted by. No thanks...give me nothingness, and let me make the best of my days that I have.
My NOW.

Why are these your only options?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/eidetic_memory.
i'm currently researching the above, as the term has come up here frequently.
if you have merely a good memory, or truly an eidetic memory, do you literally see [inside your head] every page and every word of a book you've read?.
Recently my husband and I were having this conversation, it went something like this
Me -"well, would it help to remember her name if I spelled it, so you could see the words?"
Him - "how in the world would hearing you spell it help me see it...write it down, but that still won't help me remember it later...now relate it to someone else I know, like word relation, that might help"
Me - "it could be christy, or kristi...when I tell you its with a K and an I, that doesn't help you? You can't just SEE that?"
Him - "are you high? I can't SEE anything when I TALK, or THINK...that's ridiculous"
Me - "i totally can SEE the words...the ones I'm saying! I see colors, and words like text, and I can see emotions as colors. The number 4 is green...when I said green it wasn't green, but rather like rainbowy and it sorta floated over that way (gesturing to the right) and went away like a bubble"
Him - "you are high. I never see words, not in my head, not in the air floating like damn bubbles. I see them on paper, and when you take the paper away they are gone. I can only remember them from memory, but I don't SEE them"
Me - "wow, I'm really lucky then. I can still see what I just said btw"
Him - walks away laughing and shaking his head...mumbling something about how special I am
:D
In all seriousness, it's a blessing and a curse. I can remember details of conversations like they are a script, complete with emotion and smells and what we were wearing and standing, inflection of voice and perceived intent. It really makes getting past arguments or conversations difficult. But it makes it really easy to WIN in them. ;)
(((NVL))) On with the good life friend...thinking of you.
my adult stepson, who lives with us, has his daughter every other week.
she turned one in march.
she's very bright, verbal and started walking at 9 months.
having raised (raising) 6 kids, I will say that it sounds like a very willful child that possibly doesn't sleep well, and is prone to tantrums (duh, I know)
They won't diagnose adhd till school age, unless it's just totally off the wall bad, with no good moments.
I'd venture to say she has no limits at home with mom, or at daycare, and doesn't do well with them and is frustrated.
