I PRAY he gets more power in the GB.
He would drive hundreds of thousands out of the organization when he banned NFL football as being from the DEVIL!

it just doesn't seem right ... all the matches are going to be on early in the morning here.. i guess it's breakfast with footy instead of a beer for this world cup!.
although i cheered for canada in the winter olympics i think i'm going to revert to being an english fan for the next few weeks (well, at least until we get knocked out ...).. secretly, i'll be cheering for brazil as they are usually the best to watch but most world cups have some great matches (except that germany v austria one, lol).
English wife and children and living in the USA - who to support
I have really tried to be a USA Soccer fan- but the team is usually mediocre, they take one step forward and two steps back, and there is a real lack of passion for the sport here overall. When I started becoming a fan, the USA wasnt even in the WC.
I would go for England - if the USA wins the cup, it will be a blip on the radar here. If England wins the cup, a whole nation will celebrate!
the witnesses are worse than the pharisees ever were!.
if you don't turn in a time slip and record your "ministerial" activities, you are no good.. if you wanted to smoke, you would be kicked out, even though the bible says nothing about smoking (and j.f.
rutherford, the society's president regularly smoked).. you cannot go to a "quick build" project and give of your free services if you are wearing a tee shirt with a logo on it!.

Germany will win the cup
Finally Some Pride - That would be a dream come true, although I think the injuries might keep us from making a strong run. Although, Germany always plays tough and usually has a strong team concept - unlike some of the other teams that are loaded with individual talent but cant seem to put it together. I think a big part of it is that every member of the German team plays professionally in Germany, except for Ballack who is out injured.
All of my family over there were HAPPY that Ballack got injured - most of my uncles cant stand him for some reason!
I really think this is England's best opportunity in years - I hope they make a good showing. I feel the same way about the Dutch, what a talented squad. Arjen Robben was brilliant for Bayern Munchen this year.
i finally got around to watching the entire special - its 4 hours long but very fascinating.. i'm not sure if its been posted on here, but you can watch it online:.
http://www.pbs.org/mormons/view/.
if you get a chance - go under part two and watch chapter four entitled "the mission", chapter 6 "dissenters and exiles", and chapter 7 "disciplinary actions" ........those chapters are so freakishly similar to jw's that it sent chills down my spine.. actually, the entire special made me think how similar these religions are - mainly as high control authoritarian groups.

Another point - They have a requirement to have Family Study Night on Monday - the WT was slow getting that one in place!

14 - while it was "my" decision, once you hit your teens it was either get baptised or get asked "what is wrong with you, what are you waiting for?"
"don't get married....the end is right around the corner!".
"don't have children.
not in this system of things".. "don't go to college and waste your time.
If it stinks, squishes when you step in it, and attracts flies - its bullshit!
If you like eating shit, I guess its then "food at the proper time"
i am so excited for this weekend...... any predictions on winners, players to watch, etc?.
the usa/england match will be interesting.. the media in the states is trying to rile up people by showing the liverpool fans who burned the us flag.. http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/worldcup/story/american-flag-burning-by-liverpool-fans-should-incense-yanks.
frankly, from what i can tell, american ownership has been a bad thing in the premiership.
I think the Netherlands have the most powerful attack in the tournament.
What is the status of Arjen Robben?
i saw this video on youtube and didnt know if i should laugh or crawl into the fetal position.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abm0t-qhllc&feature=related.
.
we had several "talent" shows over the years in my original congregation - it was the only annual gathering more nauseating that the meetings.. my friend and i would always bring our walkmans and blare heavy metal in the back - hoping to block out the embarassing crap on the stage.you always had a few older ones get up on stage and slaughter a kingdumb song.
However, that was the first and last. The [new] Circuit Overseer in town informed the congregation(s) that it was too much of a time consuming waste of time that could be better spent 'in the ministry' or in more 'personal study'.
My buddies and I were arranging a bunch of JW bands to get together and put on a show - the same thing happened to us.
The elders had a fit and got the C.O. involved. What a joke.
I was going to dedicate "Leper Messiah" by Metallica to him at the gig.......hahaha.
We were talking about doing a Metallica or Maiden tune there just to push the envelope - I was a MS at the time and was tired of people telling me what music I could and could not listen to.
