the first "apostate book i read was "the orwellian world of jehovahs witnesses".
i found it in my local librairy and covertly checked it out.
it was a very interesting read.
It's a great read Nik. Have you read Orwells' book "1984"? That should be on your reading list too.

Lee, one has to wonder if these "threats" at the conventions are planned for effect ..... deleberate on the part of the powers that be. It gives the impression of "persecution".
We had one at our International Assembly in sydney in 1973 and the talk after was how we were being persecuted for the truth, and it was a sure sign that we were at the end of this system etc etc .....
We also had a bomb here in Sydney, Oz. You may recall in 1985 a bomb was planted under the platform at a KH and one brother sitting in the front row was killed. The speaker lost a leg and had other injuries. In that case they knew who had done it but couldn't prove it. The elders had helped his wife and daughters disappear ......nothing unusual eh?
If you look at the history of violence toward the brothers you will see that it usually occurs at individual KHs or individual brothers .... but never has anyone ever found anything suspicious at a convention.

One thing we know for sure...The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society does not lose a dime on any of this activity. It is the local brother's and sister's who carry the responsibility for paying the money back. Just like any other mortgage holder, let them get in arrears and see how fast a form 'collection letter' appears. Get to far behind and the society, shuts them down....property sold!
Does anyone have any documented proof of this please.

I think that mainstreaming will be reforming Metranon. Thos who want reform see both as one and the same. The whole idea is to bring about enough changes to make it a safer place for people emptionally and physically and to give them the freedom to leave and even change to another belief without the ostracising that now takes place.
That is Mainstreaming/Reform
Since we all agree something has to happen, we can all work toward the same goal.

no offence all but jws meet three times per week.not five!
i consider the familiar statement about 5 meetings per week to be a good indication of just how indoctrinated a person is.
Sunday: Public Talk = 1 meeting

Thurs : T/M School = 1 meeting
Thurs : Serv Meet = 1 meeting
