You know Joliette I've never met the guy, only seen pictures of him. I've often thought maybe, just maybe if he was a little more photogenic that he'd get a better rap. Jack Barr's got the cute little old neighbor guy image going on. He looks like the guy that wants you to sit down for story time. JAracz looks like one poster put it, wants to eat your children. Maybe there's some reality to Jaracz reputation though. According to some threads, he really was just prick of all pricks.

So...how EVIL was Theodore Jaracz??
by Joliette ini'm reading crisis of conscience right now and even raymond franz mentioned in his book that ted jaracz didnt vote during governing body sessions based off of 'a gut feeling' like dan sydlik and lyman swingle did, but voted based off of having 'a mean spirit (dont quote me on that) but bascially got an overall vibe that ted jaracz was not a very nice man.
and whats this about the child abuse policy that he enforced?
what did he do that made every ex-jw's in america hate him?

Misery
IMO spending Friday night with an old bag is not good. You need to be out with someone hot. I think you're stuck in neutral. Get on with life. Resign as an elder. Get 'r done. Make plans to ask your boss out for a drink next Friday night. Give her a few days notice, so she can think about it if she needs to. If she dodges it politely don't be too upset...she may just feel it's inappropriate. Don't take it necessarily as being personal.
Remember however this could compromise your fade. There is always a JW around at the wrong time. If you feel you must play it safe, ask a few co-workers along as accusation protection.
But if you are feeling adventurous just prepare a good story in case you are seen. It shouldn't be difficult to find an excuse. After all, she's your boss.
Just my take on the Oreo binge but it is your Friday to live as you like. But remember there are just so many Fridays in a lifetime.
Wheels
Geez Wheels, now I really do feel like offing myself LOL. In my department, there aren't any other JWs. In the office building and its sister building, there are a handful. In a way I'm happy they're around, as it keeps me in order. Sometimes I wonder if oppurtunity and and the right girl would be enough to expose my weakness. Man I'd love to ask my boss out. I call her my boss, but technically she's not my boss, more like one of my superiors. When nobody is around, she definately lets her hair down just a tad around. She cusses, and talks about her own insecurities. I guess I can say as a man, I have a minor crush on her. She's one of those gals thats extremely intelligent for her age. The position she has at the company is one that requires several degrees, one of which she doesn't have. She's currently wrapping up school to get that degree so they can pay her what she should be getting paid and also give her proper recognition. If she was a man, she could run the world efficiently. She's part of the reason I kind of want to go back to school. I feel somewhat inadequate as a man when with her, although I would never let it show. I'm not jealous, don't get me wrong, I just wish I had more to offer her. I'd love to be one of those guys that made enough for my wife to stay at home, if thats what she wanted to do.
As far as Fridays go, I know Wheels, I know. I've had some fun in my life though. I just really didn't feel like going out last night. I was quite content sitting home and binging on Oreos. I went out in Field Service this morning and I felt ok. I have a talk tommorrow which I working on right now. Someday I'll resign and get away from this cancer, but I still feel as if I'm helping people in the congregation within the capacity I'm allowed as an undercover apostate in good standing. For Bane and others, don't get me wrong, I'm not undermining anybody's faith in any regards. I feel strongly that anybody that questions this organization, needs to come to the conclusion pro or con on their own terms. I don't blame this forum or anybody other than myself for the thoughts I have. This forum just gave me some assistance. I'm just not quite ready to hurt people particulary my immediate family, and some people at the hall. I guess the day will come when I'll ask myself how much its all worth.
PS, sorry if anybody came in this thread thinking I was really considering self-harm. I apologize. There's still plenty of NonJW life left that I enjoy on my own time to ever consider something irrational like that. I appreciate everybody's posts in this thread, and the entire forum. That includes Bane, and Debator too. Have a good night everybody.

Anybody remember the Inhumanoids? I didn't particulary care for the theme song, but the commercial and intro to the cartoon had my jaw on the floor as a kid. My mom wouldn't let me watch this either. When this came out, you can tell Americans were starting to get exposed to Japanese anime. Cartoons like this and Battle of the Planets(Gatchaman), Robotech, opened the door for anime over here. I miss that ol' school anime.

I loved Transformers theme song, and not just the theme song but the music throughout the cartoon too. I've heard Hip Hop producers sample some of it. But the theme song is classic.

The original Godzilla theme song I loved too, a rapper Pharaoh Monche sampled some years back.

I haven't been to a KFC in a few years. Ever since they changed their grease and recipe, it just wasn't as good to me. Someone was telling me its gotten better, so one of these days I give them another crack. I like Popeyes a little better, but at times the sodium in their chicken is ridiculous. I prefer frying my own, but I don't always feel like washing dishes afterwards, which makes fast food all so appealing at times.

Are you serious? What kind of Christianity encourages suicide bombing and terrorism as a religious rite? What kind of Christianity would not denounce any nutjob member who did such things?
Ever hear of Timothy McVeigh, Christian Identity Movement, Hutaree Militia, William Pierce, The Worldwide Church of God, James Wickstrom, and even to a lesser extent.............Sarah Palin?

Would this include Jehovah's Witnesses? Please?

I'm about to put a note on my front door that says "Dear nice Jehovas Witnesses,
I'm sorry, I appreciate your persistance, but we simply aren't interested. You seem like nice people, but we aren't in the market for a new religion. Thanks."
Seriously, they've been by like 5x in the past 1.5 months. I guess I'm too nice.

In the past month alone I've had Mormons, Jehovas Witnesses, window washers, people trying to persuade me to change gas companies and a few questionable charities. I wanted to put up a NO SOLICITING sign on our door, but my husband thought it would be tacky.
I would welcome a "Do Not Knock" registry in our neighbourhood
And as always, a loyal dub makes their presense felt.........

The right to knock on door has been legally established in a recent Supreme Court case Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York Inc. v. Village of Stratton, Ohio, 2002. While whole towns do not have the right to legally bar door to door visitors, householders or residents are free to place signage or request that people not visit them at their door. Remember that this right is intertwined in this country with freedom of speech, which many want to use for themselves but sometimes do not want to give to others who they do not agree with

Question for Billy The Ex-Bethelite and others who had forgone college sometime ago.
by garyneal ini was talking with my wife today about college and i asked her about why the society makes such a big deal about witnesses not going to college.
in typical dub fashion, my wife tells me that they do not discourage college, but they do not encourage it either.
instead, they encourage placing kingdom interests first.. now i told her about you (billy) and how you were at bethel and are now starting college at the age of 40 (i think that is correct).

The city I live in has two major universities, and a few other smaller schools including a community college. Every year a couple JW kids from out of state or from out in the boonies stay on campus in the city, and they end up coming to the KH I attend. They get treated as if they're "marked." Sure, "the friends" will converse with them briefly but there's a weird suspicion directed at these young adults. The most bizarre part of it all is when we have parts on pioneering, or lessons in the WT Study with paragraphs on young people pioneering. Those lessons always include a paragraph or two discouraging higher education. It makes for an awkward meeting when you have four or five JW students from out of town and "the friends" are dissing college in their comments. Last year, there was a lesson in the spring that made me feel embarrased to be a part of the congregation. The WT study article didn't directly come out and say higher education was a sin, but by the time those commenting were finished with those paragraphs related to school, you would have thought attending college was tantamount to rape or murder. The whole time I was sitting towards the back, on the left side of the hall. From that vantage point, I could see the out of town students looked very uncomfortable being there. After that lesson, one of them who was a nice young gal, never came back after that lesson. That meeting disgusted me.
When I was wrapping up high school I made a mistake that I've regretted for a long time. I was in 10th grade, and a presentation was done about learning a trade at a neighboring school. They gave us a letter that summerized the program. I folded up the paper and put it in my back pocket. My mother who is an uber dub, 2nd generation pioneer, was washing clothes and pulled that paper out of my back pocket. She saw the word "trade", and thought, "well Jesus was a carpenter. A perfect carpenter. My son can learn a trade too!" So the course was set. From high school until my late twenties, I went from dead end job to dead end job. Eventually I went to a one year Medical based school that got me in a better position nowadays. But being honest, I've had a resentment towards my mother ever since, and lately I'm developing a hatred toward the WT Society. They shouldn't be able to have that much influece over our lives. They're overstepping their boundaries, and I hate them for it.
