androgenous, I had to look that word up even though I had a feeling of what it meant. She's hard looking. Very mannish features. I picture Austin Powers taking a swing at her, "it's a man baby! Its a man!" Your right on Prince's type though. He has a thing for light skinned with long dark hair.

Her face is kinda long. She's got boyish features. Sorta reminds me of Fabio, but with a tan and dark hair. 20 years from now she'll look like Alice Cooper or David Copperfield.

1995, that is crazy. It's been that long now? Wow. I had just graduated high school at that time. I was talking with my dad last week and I expressed my usual reservations, but never do I go too far with it. But I told him, if I reach age 60 in "this system of things", I'm gonna be very angry. His response floored me. He said, "no you won't. You'll accept it and continue on, like I did. You get older and you learn to go with the flow." I might have his words mixed up just a bit, but that pretty much was his response to me. He also said, "what they were telling us years ago about it almost being here was all crap. Now we see things coming to a climax in this world. Never has it been this bad. You'll live to see it Misery. I'll probably be gone, but you'll see it!" I love this man dearly, idolize him so much, and he's done far too much for me to ever hurt him. But reality is what it is, and he's deluded. I guess like others mentioned, he's got too much invested in this religion.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why you guys/gals keep entertaining this dude. I guess it keeps him busy though. The summer is too long, and if he's a true dub, he doesn't have any friends to hang out with. So he'll waste his entire summer on various message boards until the fall when he enters junior high.

Day 1 of the convention
by NiceDream inhere's a brief recount of things that stood out to me this year upon my awakening...probably old hat for most of you.
the first experience i heard was from a sister who was afraid to speak to her fleshly sisters about "the truth" and her conscience was really bothered.
she felt horrible that they were going to die unless she shared the "truth" with them.

A couple winters ago, it was my turn to "lead the group" in field service. This was after the Sunday meeting. At the time, there was a young woman from out of state who was attending one of the local universities. (yeah, yeah I know) Any way I took the group to a neighborhood that has the reputation of having some hostile residents. Mostly Catholic neighborhood. I worked by myself that day as there was an odd number of people out and I didn't want anybody to be by themselves. Me personally I like working by myself. Now that young woman I mentioned, was along with her partner at a house next to the house I was standing at. She rang the bell, and after a minute or so, a guy comes to the door. She went through her presentation, and this guy says to her and her partner, "I'm not interested. You people are a cult!" He said it with the firmest conviction. Then he closed the door on them. The look on her face was priceless. A combination of horror, and bewilderment. I felt so bad for her, because it was painfully obvious that she not only didnt expect that, but wasn't used to that kind of treatment either.
Ever since then I never saw her in field service again, and her meeting attendance became inconsistant. She blamed it on the lack of time because her schooling schedule was too demanding. She's since graduated, and I've seen her website and it looks like she has a promising career ahead of her. I hope the best for her. But this thread jumpstarted my memory, and I wonder was it that householder's opposition that was the end of her field service career. I'd LOVE to show you guys her website but I'd give myself away in the process. Plus I wouldnt want to throw her under a bus.

That brochure, did it leak online, or on this board? I've got another month before my convention, dreading the thought. I'd love to research this bibliography that it seems like they're challenging us to do. Can someone scan this bibliography?

Language usage gripes : I'm a geek, but I hate it when geeks who pride themselves on their proper use of technical terms, abuse the terms used by all other educated people.
by gubberningbody ini hate the use of the word "simplistic" when the word used should be "simple".
"simple" is good, "simplistic" is bad.
we want things to be presented in a clear, concise and "simple" manner.
