I love the way Nadal destroys opponents. I'm not really into tennis, but I can appreciate an intense athlete in any sport. He made that last dude look like an ametuer. It was obvious that kid gave up before the match was even over. He knew it was no use and he was outclassed. Nadal is at his peak, and with Federer's decline, he'll have tennis on lock for the next few years.

I started to bump this last night. I was watching Wozniacki and Cibulkova, which was truly a borefest. I will concede one thing though, I'm not really into blondes, just not my cup of tea, but Cibulkova is gorgous! She's a healthy little woman, legs are something to hold behold. That Jankovic, I don't know what to think of her. She's got some odd facial features, like a cro-magnon woman. In a way she's attractive, but her face is just prehistoric.

Is there any real difference...

"religion is a snare and a racket"; " millions now living will never die"; "live forever in paradise".
and people who hold up signs, hand out handbills or put up billboards that say: .

Having said that, a simple positive message on a billboard, such as suggested by BOHM above, may well work on some, I think that is worth a go, but Fearon type protests are counter productive, they never made me think, or anyone that I knew.
That's interesting, and I agree. Give an example, I work in the downtown section of a major city, and occasionally there's two fellas standing on a busy corner, yelling at the top of their lungs about abortion being a sin. With the exception of irritating passerbys, they've accomplished absolutely nothing to aid their cause. One might make the argument that they're aiding the cause of the pro-choice crowd. The reason being, these two fellows have permanently stamped a negative image of pro-life supporters in both myself and other's heads. A couple summers ago, during my lunch I was breezing through town, enjoying the weather and the sights, trying to make up my mind what to get for lunch. Then this truck comes by, and on its side are pictures of aborted fetuses. It made my stomach turn, and really aggitated me. The aborition issue isn't really something on my radar, being that I'm a single male, with no kids, and not looking to have kids at this time either. Not to be crass, but when it comes to abortion, I really don't care. I'm sure plenty feel the way i feel. Taking that into consideration, if the pro-life crowd is advertising and protesting to gain the support of myself and others, they've failed, miserably.
Considering all of that, I see where UC is coming from on this thread when it comes to the ways ex-JWs go about protesting and expressing themselves. They're really not all that effective when it comes to winning hearts and minds. As Outlaw mentioned, nobody gives a rat's behind about the WT or JWs, with the exception of active JWs, and ex-JWs with an axe to grind. Considering the cult mentality's defense mechanism when confronted with blatant outright threats to their belief system, it probably would be more conducive to season their protests with salt.

I kinda feel like OTWO, that some people have been burned really bad by this religion and we have to understand where they're coming from. Simply living life isn't good enough for them, because this religion has perverted their lives beyond any possible normalcy, at least from their perspective anyway. Everything from sexual hangups, family breakups, lost youth, poor decisions regarding employment and education, limited choices regarding medical care, etc.. These are all serious life situations that can't be resolved by simple fixes.
Personally speaking, for me some days are worse than others, but for the most part I haven't been burned by this religion as many others have been. For me, expressing myself on this message board is enough. For a second there, it wasn't enough and I hit the bottle and popped some pills to make it all go away, even if only temporarily. I'm glad I'm beyond that, as its nice to be focused, and see things with clarity. However, for others, its not that simple. The pain they've experienced in combination with their own principles and integrity, leave them with what they see as no other alternatives but to protest with billboards. In other cases, maybe they figure they need to fight fire with fire, and if that calls for unscrupulous methods such as phony conference calls, they see it as justified. I don't necessarily suscribe to those methods, but like I said in the outset, this message board is enough for me, for now anyway.

I was looking at this earlier today. Instead of just being humble, and laughing it off, she has to sue. Its too bad she didn't drown. She's worse than the McDonalds coffee broad.

Another religion using Watchtower judicial methods?
by donuthole ini saw this on reddit this morning.
not sure who the religious group is but if you change just a couple of words (church to congregation) it reads like a jw letter - the kind you get when they are wanting to get you into a jc or disfellowship you absentia.
it's weird how similar these high-control/judgment groups really are.

The letter references an elder named, Donn. The letter closes with The Elders of the Village Church. I located their home page, and this Donn fellow. Here's the link. The pictures of the other elders are listed as well, there's several of them.

Donn Ziebell
On that link, there's several PDF files listing the qualifications and responsibilities of the Elders. Also policies on marriage, divorce, remarriage, purity, a governance model(whatever that is), women's roles, church debt, and borrowing. I didn't read any of them yet, but they look interesting.

This is somewhat humorous to me because it plays right into the stereotype that Asian women are materialistic and gold diggers.
