Will Elders Still Perform Marriages If The Sister Doesn't Marry At Least A Ministerial Servant?

based upon the last big meeting this past weekend, would it be proper for an elder to perform a wedding ceremony if the brother is not at least a mini servant?.

hi, this is my first post on this forum although i have been reading many posts on here.

i feel safe enough to ask your advice and become involved now......from what i have learned about this forum it is occupied by sensible people who have left the watchtower influences for one reason or another.

i am, for want of a better word, a none believer.

i really feel for you... there is almost nothing thats going to stop her at this point...you have recieved alot of great advice from others already. i would have to agree with those that say to stay positive and non confrontational. You need to become a master of the harder things that the society skips over initially,1914 etc...

Trying to Fade, Now they want to interview me on the SAD!!!

i resigned as an elder some time ago, have been working on fading, the wife is getting used to the new 'me' (not stressed, better husband and father, etc.

), been missing a lot of meetings... even received a few statements such as: 'hi burnedout, it's good to see you!!!

last sunday, i took my one of my sons to the local dragstrip to show him the races, oops missed the meeting.

i really do appreciate all the help you guys have given me in this process.

but it's time for me to leave.

it was time for me to leave the wt (at least in my mind) when it became damaging to me.

If you want a faith where everyone must be in agreement and believe the same as you then you should return to the Witnesses and beg for forgiveness. Research and learn that man has been on this planet more than 6000 years. That is a good place to start anyways.

i've been lurking here for about 2 years now, but was unable to really interact because of limitations of my ipod browser (you can't post from there) and the parental controls on my computer.. .

well 2 years later, i'm a big boy, turned 18 and moved out.

I saw a psychologist for about a year and a half after I left. It was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I found gained

a sense of self empowerment over my life and decisions. I suggest you do the same if possible.

Hi!! New Here and need to express some feelings

i'm so glad i happened to stumble across this website cause i really need to express what i've been holding inside for quite some time.

i'm 27 and was born and raised in the "truth".

i'm married and my husband was also raised as a jw, been married for almost 7 years and have two kids who have just started kindergarten and preschool.
