i got a book deal in 2003, and published 7 other books before i could finish this story - because it brought up too many wounds that haven't healed.
after my last memorial in 2000, i knew i'd never walk into another kingdom hall unless somebody died.

by Bethelite Elder ina couple of weeks ago, an ex-bethelite(10 years) by the name of mel smith was disfellowshipped.
i understand that he still lives in ny are and has a mortgage company.
evidently, he was hurt while serving at the farm and watchtower did some horrible things to him.

alone in the hse with opposite sex....is it crazy ??? or not??
by angel eyes inregarding being in the house with someone of opposite sex...thats a conscience thing too, the individual decides yet many claim that if they were seen in the house with someone of opposite sex they could stumble people..i think its them who have the problem, how can someone think the worse and make an accusation!?!?!
they are the ones with the problem and should be counselled, not the ones together.
its up to the individuals, we shouldnt have to take on other people consciences and be worried what others say...jehovah sees all things and at the end of the day we stand before jah's throne on judgment day not sister or brother so and so.

"If you are stupid enough to be alone in a official Bethel room with someone of the opposite sex, you should leave the door open wide, so passer's by can get a good look at what is going on.
Also, lights are to be kept on at their brightest settings, no dark rooms permitted. If you happen to engage in close contact, be sure and leave enough room for God's holy spirit."

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS DIED
by Mary inthis is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.

Actually the strange post gave a real name that checked out.
The poster is familiar with JW terms, but not all fluent in JW speak.
Half the Elders in those congregations are from Bethel so the confusion of WT doing stuff could make sense.
Waiting for a WT Farms person to come on and verify more of the story.

i served as an elder for many years, and regular pioneer for much longer until recently.
i'm also a mts grad and was used extensively on the circuit and district level.

Not only did we survive, but we are now thriving.
After having little to do with our non-JW family for 25 years, I can say, we are now very close and catching up for lost time.
