The elders are God's stars on earth irrespective of whatever crap they come up with. The more irritating the rule the more spiritual they are. I get the impression you are blessed with a superfine nit picking congregation. lucky u!

i realize as an elder that i am speaking out against the very organization i try to faithfully represent, but i personally think that the governing body is wrong by teaching that only what they teach us, as printed in the watchtower publications, should be considered to be the truth.
theyve made the expression of any personal opinions or group debates over their official versions of biblical truths subject to disciplinary action often leading to someone being disfellowshipped.. .
that is why i feel that i must keep my own identity somewhat anonymous.
I agree with the author except beards. I do not have one and never had but bearded people are just as nice and spiritual as the clean shaven.

as i continue my research to enable me to help my family see that they are not actually in "the truth", i am am looking to meet with a "real-life" ex jw, or at least converse with one via email etc.. it does appear that there are some differences in organisational rules/regulations/enforcement across the world, so i would like to speak to someone who is local and familiar with the uk set up.. i don't have any particular questions etc.
at the moment, it would just be nice to have a friend who i can ask help from and maybe even offer some support myself.......maybe even buy them a pint!!!.
