As a kid in England I made good money window cleaning. 1 hour window cleaning was what my friend made on a 8 hour shift at Mcdonalds. The only problem was iam afraid of heights, so repeat business became a problem. (I only managed with shaking legs the first 2/3rds of the upstairs window.)

To those of Faith on here, a question.

those of you on here who are still believers in god or gods, do you feel that it is better to be like our dear shelby (aka a. guest) and others on here, and simply believe without reference to a religion or to a holy book ?.

or do you think we need to find a church and some holy writings ?.

the reason i ask is because i can accept and appreciate a pure faith position, belief without proof, apart from your personal experience, but i cannot see that any "religion" or church, or holy writings, has any claim to truth..

The pure faith position you refer too (I believe) is not communitable by words.

Iam a man of "Faith".....I beleive that Jesus invitation to follow is an invitation to my non existence. The love of God is so powerful little me(My thoughts music ,likes and dislikes ceases to exit when I give my life to God/Jesus.

This is why when Jesus disiples arsked "Who sinned the man or his father that he was born blind" Jesus did not say how can you be born blind and be a sinner. So Jesus taught reincarnation. And maybe that is why we reject Jesus. The church members "give lip service"The muslims worship "Allah"But blindness starvation,and even going up in the holocaust chimney,or being a SS officer is better than non-existence. That is why we reject Jesus our being is better than our not being.

Based on Teel's JC thread why dont we all sue them?

teel's thread re his jc and his lawyer's advice has made me think....why dont all of us disfellowshipped ones sue the org for defamation of character????.

imagine if we could find a lawyer who'd be prepared to start a suit against them on behalf of us all?.

Finally! We bought a house...

some of you may remember the drama we have had first trying to buy land, then an old community hall.

both didn't work out.... well to day we signed our mortgage papers at the bank!

it has been 4 weeks since we signed a contract and it took till today to finalize it...banks sure do drag the chain!.

For many a house can become a prison with golden bars. You are however at the moment in a very good position. Interests rates are low.

Be careful not to increase the loan too much with the rennovation work. Your mortgage is 15 years prioratise your repayments .

My advise any outstanding monies you have at the end of the month use to reduce the mortgage cost. Then the house will be yours in maybe 7-10 years. Besides its better to get on top of the loan before the interest rates go up.

NO bank or individual has a crystal ball but two years ago 5% was conciderd a good fixed rate.Today I guess you are paying between 2 and 3%. In 3 years it could be 8%. Rates can only go up so dont let the bank win .

In short with a loan always ask yourself who benifits. The only way the bank dont benefit and you win is by reducing the money you will give them.

for a religious group that claims to be above reproach, with a self proclaimed, excellent reputation for godliness, i don't feel that claim is quite true.. in fact, i think its a sham to make those assertions.

they trully should not feel they are different from any organized group, when it comes to its members following righteous standards.

true, the wt would like all to believe they are clean and morally straight, that they are different and not tainted from the world.

What the society terms seriouse wrongdoing-is oftern anything but seriouse wrong doing.

The society controlls by fear and not love because the society needs captive minds.

I think sites like this champion interlectual freedom the greatest act of wrong doing according to the society.
