If Iam your leader would you follow me.

i was doing reseaerch on early days of the society and remembered a radio programme about the apostle paul from earlier in the year.
the gist of the programme was that paul had remodeled the early christians in his image and that many of the restrictions and edicts from that time had little to do with jesus earlier teaching.
for example the vilification of homosexuals and the denegration of women.. this made me think about how rutherford changed the early bible students and added restrictions to them as well trying to remodel the organisation into something he could control.. jesus spent time teaching about the kingdom, preaching the need for love, forgiveness and acceptance.

before i became a witness i was a shallow egotistcal happy go lucky married man.
i owned 2 houses which were rented out.i lived rent free in london working for a rich arab-.
due to being a witness i quit a job and a lifestyle i will never have again.. i now live in sweden with the same wife and have a kid- i can think critically.my good friends are those i met on the ministry (but never converted)-i have good friends from my congregation in england.

I still live a priverliged life living on the rent from properties.
My anger at being conned by people who refuse to admit they conned me makes me bitter. But my 4 year old Orlando is the LOVE of my life. He would not be but for having been a Witness.( I also learnt that life is Today any eternal bliss a bonus)
So what positives have come from your Witness exsperiences?

I think when the followers of Christ allowed themselfs to be called Christians it all went wrong-(The term Christian came from those who opposed the followers of Christ) That term Chistian esculated to the seperation by denominations ect ect ect. (How did the good samaritan fit into this. Or the man who built a temple and had such faith in Christ he considerd himself unworthy to meet him in person but new Jesus would raise his friend from the dead.) Followers of Christ do not need to be labled Christian:

the painful truth that bought the watchtower walls crumbling down for me, was not due to to the realisation that the techings were all lies but.
the realisation that many of the elders in the congregation were only interested in their social position and power.. this started and a suspician and gradually became more insistent and finally the realisation that most of the body of elders couldnt care less about the doctrine.. i then observed that many of the more zelouse brothers in the congregation cared more for the security of belonging to the congregation than if they were teaching truth.. this coupled with the fact that 50% of the congregation were simply going through the motions and had know enthusiasm for preashing the "good news"made me question the teachings.. i have been amazed that i havnt been disfellowshiped as i confronted some elders and brothers in a forceful way and the conversations proved my thinking was correct.. i then simply left the meetings never to return.
whilst iam more cautiouse in my talking when i meet members of the congregation in the street i always make it clear i do not go to the meetings because i couldnt continue preaching a message i dont believe.. i have felt a responsibility to tell the hypocrites of the damage they are doing to their kids futures so they can continue in there hypocrasy-.
Thanks for the comments.
Seeing my situation was not special was very interesting.

Hi wasan
It was 7 months since the elders visited.Iam sure no action has been taken because only 1 person has shunned me.(He did it Iam sure becauuse I dont go to the meetings.)
Since then I knocked on the door of a witness couple and said shame on you for shunning a girl who I knew suicidal.
Also when I see members of the congregation in the street and explain my stance(I was surprised I was able to do this) They dont ignor me.
I must say this congregation is a congregation that only had me as a member for a limited time.

i think the verdict was not based on anti-americasim as the boyfriend was italian and was also convicted.. i think the irresponsible journalisam and charactor assasination on a persons character to sell newspapers and gain t.v ratings reflect badly on english journalisam.
i think this must have effected the thinking of a jury allowed to be exposed to such media frency.. sadly english jounalisam has been responsible for helping convict innocent people in the past.
the wimbeldon common murder and false conviction of colin stagg was a classic example.. i also remember how in america (many years ago)a au-pair from england was convicted of shaking a baby to death.
Many Thanks for the comments.
