basically i think they see anyone who does not live up to their standards as a threat in which they risk exposure to fealings they would rather die than face.

I accept all you say. Sadly many such men are sincere (Lets call it brand loyalty) Even SS officers were so busy with indoctrination of others and themselfs, they had little time to pursue doubting thoughts that came up in their mind.
But the simple fact of the matter is if the elders put their efforts in helping the less fortunate, people such as "Orphans and widows in distress...."(They do concider themselfs experts on the Bible) then their authenticity would not be called into question by me.

What ever congregation you are in-an Elder by his title is signalling to the authorities his willingness to conform and obey. That is the meaning of the sign "Elder".
What I find ironic is what ever congregation you are in -an Elder by his titlt is signalling to the congregation "Iam afraid and therefore unquestioningly obedient.

75% may have been overworked and exhausted and waiting on Jehover-
But that 75% was also communicating a lie to the congregation and having an irresistible impulse to acquaint the world with their lies .
Even those that do know its a lie are in the most profound sence such men that can never be rebels. But can always be trusted to acquiesce in the established order.
Tell an Elder he is teaching a lie you will discover he is happy to teach lies. I do not believe elders are simply held captive by a concept. To believe that is in my opinion still to be under mind control.

Elders live within a lie. They need not accept the lie. It is enough for them to have accepted their life with it and in it. For by this very fact, individuals confirm the system, fulfill the system, make the system, are the system.

Actually I had a very good experience with all the elders. Only my post was about the fabrication in congregations of elders as superior in spirituality to the rest of the congregation. (Jewhovers Witnesses would cease to function if this was not true)
The elder must use this power to stand up for the status quo,thus in the most profound sence such men are never rebels but can always be trusted to acquiesce in the estatablished order-
When I confronted certain elders on an individual basis I discoverd they were happy to teach lies .Even thought it unreasonable of me not to quitely leave. This still makes me very angry.

A picture I should have taken 25 years ago...a personal story
by JustHuman14 inthis picture was my graduation from high school.
i wasn't there to take that photo along with my classmates and teachers.. .
25 years have gone ever since...still after all those years, many times in my dreams i used to watch my self taking that final picture.

Let the "Tithing" begin!
by The Berean inlast night during the service meeting a letter was read indicating that more money was needed by jehovah's witnesses in order to expand the world-wide work .
it was suggested that each publisher take a piece of paper and write down the amount of money they would be willing to give and hand it to the elders.
it seems to be a cleverway to gather "seed money" by the organization while not calling it a "tithe.

In my opinion this approach opens the eyes of newly interested ones.
Iam sure every congregation will receive a big pledge. I hope for every big pledge the other side of the coin equals a doubt in someones mind.
