i hate to see people get banned or silenced - even the people who are causing trouble.
when it comes to regulations, i could almost be described as libertarian.
because of this i would like to make a proposal - instead of leaving the banning power in the hands of a central authority, i propose that banning be placed in the hands of the individual.
Simon,
Of course not - how can ideas and beliefs be equally valid when some can easily be disproved? I think ideas and beliefs that correspond with facts are much more valuable.
Then we agree.
Some ideas are actually disproved in books.
Just thought I should mention it.

I did provide evidence of your bigotry. Not that it was necessary. You provide ample evidence yourself, in your linked threads and your statements here.
As for your comparison of me and YK, it was just mere assertions with no supporting evidence. It's like saying we both are carbon based lifeforms. That is a characteristic I am actually more emberrassed to share with you than with him.
Now, little bigot, I will for the sake of peace:
dubla *plonk*

Simon,
I'll translate: People who disagree with me are dumb 'cause I have read lots of books.
I find your sudden position of radical skepticism amusing. Sorry for using such a long expression. I read it in a book.
Just for curiousity: Is it your position that any idea and belief is just as valid as any other, or was that just a convenient ad hoc position for sniping at me now?

ever since i came to this board i have been constantly amazed at the great propensity for bickering and moaning in this place by a certain minority of posters who might know better, you're so politically correct some of you.
you ruddy do me head in sometimes, i don't know what it is, maybe you think you are being clever, but it always seems to be the same ones that make the same disparaging remarks over and over again, not clever, just exceedingly boring.. so what if some posters get up your nose, what the blinkin' hec does it matter?
you know is attacked over and over again here, so is janh plus one or two others, so ruddy what?
dubla,
You're a blind, fanatical patriot for going around with a grudge against me for something I wrote about your country's mass slaughter of civilians months ago. You are a bigot for accepting done to other ethnical groups what you would not accept done to your own. And you're a fanatic for bringing this up again now.
Your ethic, or lack thereof, stands condemned more and more for each message you post.
Btw, very clever to bring up nationality in this subject. I am sure you hope to make USians rush to your side to defend you. You are a pathetic coward!

Valis,
If you don't want me to "mistake" the words you wrote to mean what they said, you should not have written them in the first place.
I begin to suspect you never read Animal Farm, btw.
I did not respond to your suggestion about an ignore feature on this thread because I have done so many, many times before. I also happen to know that it's a quite complex feature to add to the board, which may be why Simon is reluctant to do it. But yes, I think it's a great feature. I would use it extensively.

dubla,
You are a bigot. Now, that was my take on personal insult, so we're even.
What you accused me of doing, is exactly what you and a significant number of other participants do when you run out of patience. You and many, many others do the same thing to YouKnow, for example. Or a number of other braindead dub apologists here.
Your pet peeve seems to be that I do the same to stubborn creationists once they have posted the same rebutted argument a dozen times. You don't like it? Fine. I happen to consider die-hard creationism several levels of stupdity above dub-dom. People propagating it in face of overwhelming evidence, ignoring counter arguments and repeating assertions rebutted a thousand times, for some reason make my patience wear thin.
Now, I suspect you are a form of creationist light, which is like saying you only had half a lobotomy. So I guess that I hit a bit too close to home with you..
There is very fundamental difference between me and YouKnow. I use solid arguments and facts. He doesn't. Now, I have seen no evidence that actual arguments are significant to you, but they are to me.

dubla,
Ahh, we have long memories and grudges. So criticising US policies, and in particular criticising an action which killed a number of innocent civilians, is "bigoted"?
I realize that anyone having ever criticised your beloved home country and their bombing of a wedding is "bigotry" to you. And that says everything we need to know about your ethics and particularly lack thereof.
Blind, fanatical patriotism is, however, a form of bigotry. And you demonstrate it very well.

Valis & Dubla,
You just disgust me. How the hell is defending YK's right to speak his opinion making me like him? YK is the opposite: a totalitarian who do not support the freedom of speech of his opponents. He supports the JW system where any deviation from toing the orthodox belief is banned.
I have been called a large number of vile names by YK over the years, when I still could be bothered to reply to his nonsense. I have had far more fights with him than any of you.
I still support his right to express his opinion, even though his particular opinion disgusts me. Today, I hardly read anything of what he writes on this board. It is boring, verbose and silly.
I can tell you a story: When I left the dubs, a JW in the computing department of the University I worked had my account immediately closed. Obviously, he didn't like the idea of me propagating "apostate" ideas through "his" department. The result was a massive outcry on the Net, including articles in paper media (and this was at a time when all newspaper articles about the internet had to explain what it was!) resulting in me getting the account reopened by the University.
Shortly afterwards, a JW at a German university was forced to close down his site because the administrators there did not like him propagating JW teachings. Me and some other exJWs publicised this fact, staged a protest on the Net and wrote to the university administrators protesting the infringment on his freedom of speech. He got his account back, and continued using it for propagating JW ideas (as far as I know). I remember he emailed me, knowing I was a "dangerous apostate" and thanked me personally.
This is what I stand for, and believe strongly in.

dubla,
are also two of the biggest bigots on this forum
Now that is fascinating. I am supposedly a trouble maker for questioning policies and practice, while certain others feel free to post a large number of personal attacks (like the above) and still want to come across as loyalists. How peculiar, and yet so typical!
Now, please explain where and how my supposed bigotry is expressed. My dictionary defines a bigot as
"One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ."
Is this me? Evidence please?
Alternatively, I expect your apology.
