hi friends,.
we have a drive at our new ajwrb.org site for donating blood for witnesses!
great publicity campaign, as people will finally realize that jehovah's witnesses do take blood transfusions!time to end the word-game charade.
Thank you for this Randy. I've been considering donating blood ever since I began to see their blood doctrine for what it really is. I just never know how to go about doing it. My job use to have blood drives, but no longer. I've seen a couple of churches sponsor blood drives as well, but only during times when I am at work or alone with the kids.
Surely there is something I can do.
my jw boyfriend says this all the time whenever i'm venting about life and some of its disappointments, career aspirations and how hard they are to make happen sometimes, problems with friends/family, or just random stuff that gets to me.
i'm not a negative person or anything; i only get moody occasionally.
i am a woman; it's kind of required.
Why are you torturing yourself with a JW boyfriend? Get out while u can
Good question, why are you torturing yourself with this. Run, RUN, RUN AWAY....
If you marry him, here is your future:
me: well it's kinda complicated.
they think god exists according to various beliefs, but that he is all powerful and does all that is best for everyone.. (she collapsed in laughter at this for a full 2 minutes then composed herself).
mary: so they really think he is all powerful and uses his power to do what is best for everyone?.
That they do, I-O. They do not sound that far off from the old IFB church goers I used to go to church with.
I recall back when I was going there how the pastor warned us that Proctor & Gamble was run by Satanist and urged us to boycott their products and spread the word. Dumb, gullible me actually posted the letter being distributed by the church on a BBS back in the days of Fidonet only to discover that it was all an urban legend. Sadly, that wasn't the only urban legend that he preached as gospel from the pulpit. It's no wonder he ended up having to step down and the church was later disbanded.

Um, this site looks like a parody. Really? One of the icons for Pastor Billy-Reuben says 'Teabag Patriot.' TEABAG?

Uh huh, another IFB term.
Again, Jesus would disagree with you. Please read Matthew 23, to see how Jesus went about winning souls.
Soul winning, an IFB trademark.

They look like a KJV only, 'red blooded,' good ole fashion, fundamentalist church. I'm trying to determine if they are an IFB church, they sure sound like they are.
i learned in church this past sunday that jesus must have emptied himself of all of his knowledge when he came to earth.
this is based on luke 2:51, 52 where it states then he went down to nazareth with them and was obedient to them.
but his mother treasured all these things in her heart.
LOL, thanks guys. Anyone else?

I learned in church this past Sunday that Jesus must have emptied himself of all of His knowledge when He came to Earth. This is based on Luke 2:51, 52 where it states “Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” This, along with the Sunday school teacher stating that according to Jewish tradition a child is considered an adult at the age of 13 back then (though I have not confirmed this with any actual Jew) and by the age of 12 (the age of Jesus at the time) every Jew has to learn all of the Hebrew laws and customs.
This made me think of some things that I had not considered before. I was just curious about any other thoughts on this scripture and what you may think they mean. Some of the things that got me thinking were some of the things I heard before such as:
Jesus emptying Himself of His Deity when He came down to Earth as is taught by most churches.
Jesus growing in enlightenment as is taught by the Gnostics.
While not directly related, I can imagine a witness taking away from this that Jesus emptying Himself of His knowledge only to gain it back at baptism when He became the Christ.
john, his brother james, and their father,.
(john 3:1, 2; 19:38) this fear.
overcome fear of man.
4 Men often put material security ahead of spiritual pursuits. Getting higher education and securing a well-paying job are priorities for many of them.
This will always baffle me, the way they portray men trying to earn a decent living for their families this way. But really, where are the JW youth centers in the colleges? Why don't they point out any witnesses who are doctors that specialize in bloodless therapies at their assemblies? Always the young man or woman who turns down a promising future to piosneer and work as a janitor and/or a window washer.
