Sorry for not checking in sooner. Been busy with the holidays. No worries on the cheap cards, I do the same thing. :D
I get my cards usually from the Dollar (er $1.25) Store.
I just appreciate the exchange.
I got a PM from someone who I think want to head it up. We can certainly do that. I will also look at past lists.
I also want to include my wife for emotional support since she is disfellowshipped and cannot speak to her own family anymore.

Sorry to hear about Blondie. Seems a lot of people have left this board, oh well, I guess we all move on at some point.
I do check in every once in a while to see how things are going. Haven't posted here much myself since my wife was disfellowshipped and she and I separated.

Jesus H Christ's Custody Battle
by garyneal init's been a while since i posted here but i ran across a youtuber who is going through a custody battle against his wife who is in a religious cult.
he did not mention the name but it sounds like the jehovah's witnesses.
i've researched this in the past myself but was wondering if anyone here has had any knowledge or prior experience with situations like this.. the fact that his own parents have sided with her over this due to him being out is disgusting.

Do Circuit Overseers outrank Elders? Why can't they talk to disfellowshipped people?
by garyneal inlast sunday, our family went to the kingdom hall and i realized that this was the week that the circuit overseer was in town.
when we sat down, i noticed he came over and talked to her then he walked away i guess to talk to others.
a few minutes later, he returned to tell her that he could not talk to her because he was informed that she was disfelloshipped.

Last Sunday, our family went to the Kingdom Hall and I realized that this was the week that the Circuit Overseer was in town. When we sat down, I noticed he came over and talked to her then he walked away I guess to talk to others. A few minutes later, he returned to tell her that he could not talk to her because he was informed that she was disfelloshipped. Naturally my wife asked why he could not talk to her but the elders could. She said that it was not written in any books to which he responded, "Not everything is written in the books."
When she told me that he could not talk to her I said, rather loudly, "Why not, I thought he out ranked elders?" The whole "Not everything is written in the books" reminded me of one of my first posts here on the board and the irony of how that works when it comes out of the mouth of a Jehovah's Witness. It also reminded me of the super secret Elder's manual that has large margins for the "unwritten" rules to go in.
Does anyone know if even a Circuit Overseer (and above) are not permitted to talk to disfellowshipped people? What a goofy religion.

Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage
by MuslimWoman inmy boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).
he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.
but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

This is exactly what I say to myself. But it's hard because I really feel that this hurts him too.. We love each other and I pray God to make my boyfriend opens his eyes about this extrem religion..
Don't count on it. I have been trying to open my wife's eyes for the past 14 years. It took her having an affair, getting disfellowshipped for it, and shunned before she even remotely began to see the extremism of this religion. Even then, though, I think she will eventually go grovelling back just to start talking to her family.
I join the chorus and recommend running from this man.
