Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

When talking about the WT study after the zone visit, I asked my Mrs on what grounds she would shun her own mother if her mother was disfellowshipped. For example, would it be on the grounds she murdered someone; she robbed a bank; she got into prostitution; she decided to leave the JW's and become a Baptist, She started celebrating her grand children's birthdays; She disagreed with some of WT's teachings. She said it all depends on the situation. I said er well...darling, according to that study today, it doesn't matter how big or small the reason for her being disfellowshipped, you would be expected to 'Shun'/ cut off your own mother....for the rest of your life if need be! unless she came back into the (captive religion) of Jehovah's Witnesses again. That's what would be expected of you according to Gods chosen (the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses).
She then said NO!....she would not shun her own mother if df'd, and she knows that only 'certain types' of Witnesses would do that. I said well I am glad to hear you wouldn't do that, because I certainly would never do that to my own mother. When she said only certain types of Witnesses would do that, I knew exactly the kind she meant!

Lets hear what your local needs was about this week
by dbq407 inours started out with matt.
25:23. he brought out that "good and faithful slave" was talking about the anointed but wait for it.........yes the principle can be applied to our cong.
well tonight it was about getting all the territories worked once a year.

I had no idea what ours was about. The talk was boring and vague. I asked my wife what she thought of the local needs and she said she was lost. I guess we were both day dreaming during what sounded like an insurance seminar :-) -

This Watchtower was one big contradiction. Paragraph 17 said.....
'We need courage to be loyal to Jehovah. Many of us have courageously stood firm against pressure from family members......in order to prove ourselves loyal to God. In Japan, for example Taro had from childhood centred his life on being loyal to his parents..............He really wanted to make his parents happy. So when they opposed his association with Jehovah's Witnesses, he found it especially painful to tell them that he had decided to attend Christian meetings. Says Taro: "They were so angry for years, I was forbidden to visit them at home. I prayed for courage to stick to my decision. Now their attitude has softened, and I can visit them regularly'
Having been already annoyed at the audacity of paragraph 7 where we are to shun our own mother if df'd (forbid her from our home if it came to it), yet they make Taros parents look bad for doing the very same thing they set as policy! Who on earth writes this stuff. It looks like Bill wrote the first part of that Watchtower study, and Ben stepped in and finished it off. Unbelievable!

Alone
by Deleteandrestart insince i woke up one year ago , i've been doing a somewhat controlled fade , the experience i've had has been a very solitary one , i don't mean by not seeing anyone i know because i know hundreds in several congregations and i was an elder .
but just coming to terms with the fact that this was no longer the solution to life's problems, that i'd wasted so much time, that as i sat in the kh and heard everyone comment, my heart was no longer in it , i no longer fitted in ..... i felt that they were in the congregation all under the spell or some form of hypnosis from the wtbts,.
it was like for the first time in my experience at the kh , that i was the only one to see what was actually going on , the indoctrination, the guilt tripping, i could see it all as clear as day , and yet i had as it where a metal gag over my mouth, i couldn't speak to anyone about it for fear of them turning me into the spiritual police.

Hi D&R, I feel the pain. It's sad that we cannot be open at the KH. Everyone is afraid to say something out of turn. In my case, I really like the people at my hall bar one or two. The elders are nothing but errand boys for the GB who have to follow rule upon rule. I have my suspicions that there are a number of awake individuals in my hall judging by the odd comment they have said. It's incredible that a small group of men in NY can have such control over people all over the world! -

A question about WTBTS moles.
by DATA-DOG inwith all the info from videos to boe letters, to the flock book ( this is huge when you learn ttatt!
), why can't we find out who the wtbts hired to aid in their rebranding efforts?
we know all about the rc and monica applewhite for jeehoober's sake, so why in the hell can't we find out who is behind the rebranding?

The only person I can think off regarding hard business like expertise and effective branding is Donald Trump. But hey I could be wrong :-) -

Evolution is a Fact #10 - Non-Coding DNA
by cofty inevery cell in your body contains a big book of how to build another you.. although it's approximately 3 billion letters long only a small fraction of it contains instructions on making humans.. imagine trying to use a workshop manual but it reads like somebody messed up at the publishers.
there are a few paragraphs of meaningful text followed by pages of gibberish, another page or so of useful instructions then 9 more of random words.
some of it looks like copies of original text but full of typing errors.

If we evolved...why oh why are humans the only species who stand out in regards to intelligence. Why do all animals apart from humans act on instinct. I don't doubt that some animals are mixed breeds such as dogs, but humans evolving from an amoeba......really!!! Genesis chapter 1 explains how everything was created ACCORDING to its kind. Simple yet remarkably accurate based on everything we see around us. -

I was saddened to hear about Prince. I really liked his music in the early 80's. They were happy times before I joined Watchtower -
