  it was not a light slam of flesh and bone against a slanting wall of the derelict cabin.. animal rage set its talons upon an unsuspecting, trusting child and sent her hurtling into the air and, upon impact with the splintery cedar paneling, edging downward, painfully downward by a stop-go motion that could hardly be described as sliding.

  landed in a shocked but still breathing heap, she lay quiet until the beast left its lair.

  once out the ill-hung door and into the labyrinthine wood that all but put the tiny speck of four rotting walls safely off the map, mommy went to work.

  Yes. I also believe this comes of a relationship built day by day, every day--it's not something that "just happens", it's something two people make happen together. That's where "one"comes in--if you're only in it until a better offer comes along, for "better" but not for "worse", you're only involved--not committed.

  Advice for a non-witness dealing with a fiance's witness family

  my name is jaime and i'm here because my fiance recommended this site.

  i am not, nor will i ever be, a jehovah's witness.

  i strongly believe it is a cult, but i also am respectful of the choice people make to associate themselves within the witness "world.

  Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear of another family being subjected to the deliberate emotional manipulation that is the Watchtower's shunning doctrine.

  Your fiance needs your support. He is the focal point of the pressure. This maltreatment is designed to coerce him back into the Watchtower fold, along with your son and you too if at all possible. It really is their doctrine, it's in their publications, and they really do say it's intended as "correction" for misconduct.

  He needs you with him, partners united against the pressure. For the sake of your son, don't allow his mother to dictate your family relations. As others have said, you are your own family now, and it's a package deal: she can accept the entire family, not just parts of it. It's important to start now, the longer you delay the harder it will be to have her respect your boundaries.

  he sits down in the backrow and puts his feat up on the row ahead of him.

  he looks very relaxed and starts to intently listen to the public talk.. people start looking back at him, wondering how he could be so brazen.

  i was dutifully going door to door to door, when a lady came to the door crying about the cahllenger.

  she invited me in and i placed a set of magazines.

  I was on a business trip, driving the rental car out of the airport lot in Tulsa. The lady at the security gate was talking crazily, I could barely make out three words she kept repeating: "ITBLEWUP!ITBLEWUP!ITBLEWUP!" It sounded important, so having no idea what she was talking about that blew up, I turned on the car radio as I drove away. That's when I found out about the tragedy, which happened while I was walking between the terminal and the parking lot.

  there seems to be a common denominator of former witnesses who accuse the watchtower society of being a false organization.

  what they crave is acknowledgment that their way is the best way.

  Me!

  I have never been a Witness, neither first class (annointed), second class (dunked), nor third class (uncommited publisher). My ex-wife was baptised into the Watchtower organization and raised our kids that way, a matter in which I had essentially no voice. It was stressful. Religion is supposed to strengthen families, not undermine one partner bdecause he(she) doesn't share the same beliefs.

  have these so called “enlightened” individuals found something better?

  I don't speak for everyone, but I think I did. After years of trying, my Ex finally made a convert. She convinced me to go back where I started--which is where she started from too, long before I met her. This is not what she had in mind, but it works for me!

  i've been doing quite a bit of thinking, praying, and meditating as of late and i've decided to take my leave from this forum for the time being to focus on more positive and spiritual pursuits.i'm sure i'll check in now and again for tidbits and to say hi... in the meantime, y'all have been a great help on my journey to something or other.

  i am going out with my bff and a few other good friends for dinner, drinks and cards tonight!

  looking forward to a night out with the "girls" who have been by my side since day 1. .
