what does it matter that the roman word for cross sounds also like a word for another god?.
From the standpoint of salvation, it doesn't matter if it was a T-shaped cross, a t-shaped cross, "stauros", or a plain old tree. To Christians, what matters is not the precise manner of death, but the resurrection that followed three days later.
The only significance of the Watchtower's insistance on "stauros" is that it's their way of saying "We're right, you're wrong, and Jehovah's gonna get you unless you agree with us!"
I'll be treating it just like Friday the 30th which came two weeks before it, and Friday the 27th which comes two weeks after it. Just another pay day Friday, which makes it a pretty good day!

it seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.
The whole thing about Adam is that sin entered the world through him. Because before he sinned, there was no sin - simply because he was the first TO sin. Now sin is in existence and so in the world, and I can't say that it isn't in our nature to sin, because I believe that it is. People usually have to be taught right from wrong, as children...
I agree, Tammy. Expanding on this, the reason Adam was the first sinner is that he ate from "the tree of knowledge (of good and evil)". He was the first to be capable of knowing there was a moral choice between good and evil. With that knowledge came the responsibility to apply it. That is our heritage from Adam's sin--not blame for the act he committed, but the ability to be capable of sins of our own, and an imperfect human nature that leads us to commit them.

It depends on the law in the territory of the Northern Mariana Islands, as BOTR said. The privilege there may be broader or narrower than it was in the CA case.

With that sort of awkward construction, consider re-ordering the clauses:
"Bob is coming tonight, with his family."
There is no clash of singular, plural and compound noun clauses; the main action ("Bob is coming") is stated first; and the detail "with his family" follows.

this isn't a popularity contest and i know i'm missing some but i wanted to give a special shout out to all of you who have experienced heartbreak and trials because of your wt exit and who i've come to love and respect.

now i feel bad already because i know i'm leaving some wonderful moms out but i wanted to get this thread up so that you all know how much i love you.. and i kinda miss my mom right now.. .
