Publisher's I D Card?....
by BluesBrother indoes anybody know if all "publishers" still carry one of these?.
sister blues came home from the ministry and was a little nonplussed because the c/o had said that publishers were not agents of the congregation.
they were just concerned neighbours visiting ........this was in the context of 'how to deal with 'no callers' signs' ...... no, i don't get it either, she has not been issued one of these since she moved to a new congregation and i said that this card would put a lie to that statement.

Did anybody else notice the space where the "presiding minister" is to sign the card? This is on an ID card issued by an organization that does not have an ordained clergy. Gotta love that cognitive dissonance!

What happens if the lights go out during a meeting?
by WTWizard inwe all know of those kingdumb hells that don't have windows.
and i never saw an a$$embly hell that had windows that would let light in that would reach the auditorium.
so, what do they do if the lights go out during the middle of a boasting session?.

They don't have emergency exit lighting? That seems odd for a "place of assembly".

Jehovah's Witnesses and their Charitable Donations...
by God_Delusion inwhy do jehovah's witnesses get so angry when you tell them that they never donate to charities other than their own pseudo-charity?.
read what happened this weekend when one of my friends brought this point up at the dinner table.. http://www.jehovahswitnessblog.com/jehovahs-witness-beliefs/do-jehovahs-witnesses-donate-to-charity/.
love,.

When we donate to a charity we don't know how the money is used
That is a broad assertion. It is not true for many charities, especially smaller and local ones. If I donate to the local Habitat for Humanity branch, that money stays here--it is used to build a lower-income house in our town. A donation to the local homeless shelter or food bank has visible, local results. These organizations have small staffs, mostly volunteer, and the few paid members are nowhere close to being 1%-ers.
Information on charities, their budgets, and their expenses literally at your fingertips.

Yes, every week this goes on only makes the regular refs' bargaining position stronger. It's time for the league to cut their losses and make a deal.

The Beast-Tower #6: 'From A Magic Shield To The 'Large Shield of Faith'--A Life Story As Told by Steven Sparlock
by sd-7 inthe scene was set: i stood amongst the enemy, brandishing my magic sword and shield.
i enjoyed the feeling of control and power that came with my vocation: warrior wizard.
but a chance encounter changed my life forever.

Another uplifting talk from SD-7!
I heard that brother Steven has recently been a service partner with Sister Barbie. What a fine turn of events, he is SOOOO much more spiritual than that worldly apostate Ken!

FYI - I emailed my lawyer with a copy of the child custody brochure today. It broke my heart to do it.....but I had to
If it's come to that, sharing the pamphlet with your lawyer is a good move. With knowledge of the Watchtower tactics, your attorney will be prepared to deal with them effectively. With the lawyers involved, you may be past the point of no return. That's sad, but under the circumstances getting out is probably the lesser evil.
My 5 year old asked my wife in front of me "Mama.....does daddy serve Satan?" I looked at my wife and said "well.....why don't you answer her?" She remained silent. Then at night....my 5 year old said "I just don't understand.....why to you want to be friends with Satan?"
Document these events as best you can. This situation has a name: parental alienation syndrome.
The most important thing is to not sink to her level (your lawyer should already have had this talk with you, but it's worth repeating). No name-calling, no bad-mouthing her to the children, no threats. Don't put the children in the middle of a dispute between you and your wife. You need to stand up for yourself, while following every rule scrupulously. Think twice, three times about what you say and do--avoid anything that could be twisted and taken out of context to make you look bad in a custody hearing. Protect yourself against false allegations. And take care of yourself, your children need their father!
