  No Blood windshield stickers

  i just walked back from getting my mail and happen to walk right by an automobile that belongs to the jw's who live in the end of my building.

  the sticker in the low left of the windshield caught my attention so i stopped to read it.

  it was a sticker that said......advanced medical directive.....no blood!

  I think it's only for show (or perhaps a new loyalty test). I don't see how any emergency responder would trust such a decal on the car. How do they which occupant of the car put it there? How do they know it isn't intended as satire, wasn't a prank or an act of vandalism? Is it signed, dated, and witnessed? What if the driver has borrowed the car, or is a mechanic test driving it after repairs?

  Shhhh! Don't tell the Witnesses that Father's Day has Methodist origins! Nor that it was also about remembering orphans who lost their fathers in a mine diasaster:

  In December 1907, a terrible mine explosion in nearby Monongah claimed the lives of more than 360 men. Most of them had families, and the tragedy left 1,000 children fatherless.

  Clayton was distraught by the thought of all those children growing up without a father's guidance, and wanted to do something to honor the importance of fatherhood. She asked her pastor to set aside a special day to commemorate fathers. She chose the Sunday closest to the birthday of her late father, also a Methodist preacher.

  Christendom! Creature worship! Christian charity! Flee, brothers and sisters, flee to the spirit-directed organization!

  Although it is not a requirement that all in the wedding party be baptized, it would not be appropriate to include in the wedding party individuals whose lifestyle grossly conflicts with Bible principles or whose conduct would raise questions in the minds of those attending.

  In other words, unbeliever daddy is not going to walk his daughter down the aisle, because that could stumble the ex and JW in-laws. Just sit there, shut up, and don't forget your checkbook.

  Evaluating MLMs:

  • When will your "upline" be paid a commission: when you buy inventory, or when you make a sale?
  • Is there any reasonable hope of success strictly as a sales representative, without recruiting others to be "downlines" for you?
  • Are there sales territories assigned to each representative, sized so that each representative has enough prospective customers in their territory to succeed?
  • Are the products offered comparable in quality and price to those offered by retail stores and online merchants?
  • Considering all the expenses and time invested, what will you be earning per hour?
  • In short, is the company interested in your success, or only that you buy into the business?

  I am aware of no MLM that has satisfactory answers to all of these; many cannot give a good response to even one of them!

  Only because they're such a small group relative to the other categories reported! The wording of the article is poor; it gives the results in a way that represents population size rather than the likelihood that any given persoon will cheat on their spouse. Also, the survey's methodology is poor (a self-selected sample is not a random sample, and therefore is unlikely to provide accurate results).

  98.76543210% of all statistics cited in internet articles are meaningless, made-up BS (including this one).

  Anyone recall a time when your congregation came to the aid of a Brother or sister in need??

  i'm not talking about a individual, but a congregation as a whole.. i'm talking about a brother or sister that really hit hard times.. have there ever been an occasion where the brothers (elders).

  decided to dip into the kh funds and help one in need????.

  example, brother loose his job, get evicted, family of four or.

  I cannot recall any cases of financial help, but there were cases in the 1990s and early 2000s where Ex's kingdom hall organized meal schedules to help the sick and elderly. The sad thing is that those are the only cases I remember where any bona fide charity came from the local kingdom hall.

  Any tips for safe web surfing?

  greetings to all who surf shark-infested internet waters.. after i was hit by ransomware the other day, i did research on so-called safe sites.

  it seems more and more sites are being infected deliberately by hackers.

  i went to a legit-looking site on a famous artist and -- wham!

  Keep everything you run up-to-date (that means replacing an old Windows XP machine, because XP isn't supported any more).

  Use Chrome, Firefox or Opera instead of Internet Explorer. As the biggest target, IE attracts the most attention from the evil-doers.

  Set your browser to the tightest security settings you can tolerate, including Javascript settings.

  Use Ad-Block and Flash-block browser extensions. Be wary of where any Flash content comes from before you run it.

  Use a good anti-virus program and Spybot Search-and-Destroy.

  Set up a guest account on your computer and use that for web browsing, not a "computer administrator" account.
