They do not, will not, and cannot reject the past presidents
There is a notable exception: the first president of the Watchtower Society, William Conley. Even in its earliest days, the organization wouldn't tolerate dissent.
playing with myspace today and came across this, saying that the wt has abandoned both of them.
is it not more a case of they pick and choose the bits of their now archaic writings that support current thinking?
i dont know that one could say they have been rejected though.... what thinks you?.

the kids are still asleep and i have a little peace to watch the parade.
the dogs sliding snowboards was cute, especially the one that kept chewing on the board.. happy new year .
Another fine parade and another New Years Day with Chamber-of-Commerce clear blue skies! I liked the Boy Scout's 100th anniversary float, though I must admit to partiality having been part of that fine organization.
It's fun to see the parade in person. I did that twice when I was going to college in L.A. It's also the biggest New Year's Eve party on the west coast (but don't get caught with liquid celebration on the public sidewalk!).
i hope this letter finds you and your loved ones both happy and well.
one day, before the summer assembly, my parents informed me that they had serious doubts.
i just wanted it to go away, and for things to be the way they used to be.
Well written and well documented, thank you! I saved a copy for my own reference.

man is this strange.
this is the family who told me to leave the two sisters alone who were doing our neighborhood a few months back.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/182204/1/moshe-unloads-on-jws.
the husband and wife always looked the other whenever they drive by my house.
Would active JW's go to that movie?
Let's see, here's my semi-serious list of reasons they wouldn't:
But on the other hand, the military/corporate establishment (Babylon the Great) is the villian of the story...
Now changing to a serious comment: I'd ask her parents about this first. The kid may be trying to sample forbidden fruit behind her parents' backs. If that's the case, guess who catches the blame--not only from her parents, but also from your daughter when her friend can't come to your house again? Personally, I like the movie--but I do see how JWs and other strict sects might object to it, and they are the parents.

Edited to coorect: I missed the fact that her parents took her to see it. I though the kids asked you to take them!
i know a lot of people were upset when mash ended.
i never was a big fan of the show, probably because it was on a meeting night, but it was a very popular show.. i loved hill street blues, taxi, all in the family, the rifleman, even superman!
i wished those shows never stopped!.
Rocky and Bullwinkle, the cartoon that dared to make a point!
ok i have asked several of my friends and they have never heard of being chased by a committee before.
so i am hoping someone has some insight.. .
i'll give you background and yes i am not innocent in the situation but what i was raised to believe is being contradicted by the actions of the elders.. .
edlewiese, I'm sorry you're in this situation. Because the elders already have a bias against you, you're likely to end up DF no matter how you go about this.
Do consider using the letter from your attorney as others have suggested. But at the same time, consider if you're really willing to follow through in court if it comes to that: there are considerable emotional, legal, and financial risks with a lawsuit. This means getting professional legal advice, which I'm not qualified to offer.
Another thing you didn't mention: I'm assuming your new man is not in the organization (if he was, the committee probably would be after both of you). Be sure he understands what is going on, the possible consequence of losing contact with family and friends, etc. Most outside the organization don't understand that part of Witness life, and may not even believe it until they experience it first hand. He will need your support as much as you need his; be true partners to each other to make it through this ordeal together.
However, I don't want to meet with these men.. I feel like you are answering to them not to Jehovah.
I agree with that statement! Tell them you will not meet with them, because you do not answer to them--only to God. Your original post talked about "moving on with your life"; that is exactly what you should do: take charge of your own life again. As my divorce lawyer told me, "The best response to bad behavior is living your life well."
Good luck, and be strong.
ok, here's my current list:.
i just finished the greatest show on earth by richard dawkins, and am almost finished crisis of conscience by...some guy.. currently in hand, i have:.
the power of myth, joseph campbell and bill moyers.
I'm halfway through "I'm Perfect, You're Doomed"
Welcome liznicolas! I was looking for that one in the local bookstore, but it wasn't in stock. So my latest reading was John Grisham's The Associate.
i read on a facebook thread some talking about going to a jw therapist, i didnt't know there were any.
i remember a young girl that da and my mother blamed it on a "worldly" therapist.
knowing what i know of her family it had to be the best decision of her life.. .
Any ways, I remember the sister telling me that she had to sign a waiver stating that if during one of their sessions she mention breaking a bible principle she was aware
that he would call the Elders in her Hall
Well, there's a clear warning to "Stay Away!". If I was presented with such a waiver, I'd forward a copy to the state licensing authorities. I doubt such a waiver would be legal (federal HIPPA requirements for patient privacy, as well as state medical ethics laws).
In any case, if there's even the slightest chance you'll mention anything related to the WT to your therapist, you need to see an impartial therapist: not a Brother, not an Elder. That waiver makes it clear the therapist is anything but impartial on matters of religion!

too bad they never existed!.
http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2009-10-26/news/0910250041_1_civility-rudeness-hyphen.
bring back the golden age of civility?
You're right, Elsewhere, civility in civic discourse has always been the exception, not the rule. Nor is that observation unique to the USA.
In the good old days, statesmen like Aaron Burr anmd Alexander Hamilton settled their differences like proper gentlemen: with dueling pistols.
Changes of power in the times of monarchy were frequently accomplished by assassination. In the "modern" era of elected governments, it's more likely to be the reputation than the body that dies, but the basic principle is the same.
a real tragedy here yesterday; regardless of our feelings about the religion itself, we lost some good friends and genuinely nice people yesterday; these were some of "the good ones"--why is it always them??.

southlake four people died saturday after their car flipped over into a six-foot-deep pond in southlake, police said.. just before 11:20 a.m. saturday, the toyota sedan drove through the intersection of lonesome dove road and burney lane, crashed into a metal fence, hit a tree, and landed upside-down in a pond on the grounds of a mansion.. "they came through this stop sign and, from eyewitness accounts, they never slowed down," said neighbor byron copeland.. copeland said the residents of the property raced to try and help.
It is sad they died that way. It could happen just as easily going to the supermarket as out on service. The families have my sympathy.
