When Jesus spoke of sorting souls into two groups, it was sheep on his right, goats on his left. Those who followed his word on the right, those who gave it mere lip service on the other. Those who chose salvation, or damnation. (Matthew 25)

Only One Destiny for All Christians
by cofty inthe following is an extract from an article i wrote when i left the watchtower 25 years ago.
it may be helpful in reasoning with a jw about the anointed/great crowd distinction.. --------------------------------.
to divide people into those with a heavenly hope and those with an earthly one is not a biblical concept.

Are JW's unknowingly part of a CULT?

To Ding's list, I propose adding #11: (related to #7)
"Quotes their own writings more frequently than, and as equally authoritative to, other widely accepted sources used by non-members." In this case, they quote the Watchtower and and various books published by WTBTS as if they were accepted scripture. Note well: they call the weekly meeting a Watchtower study rather than a Bible study.
Yes, it is a cult. No, it does no good to tell a Witness that it is a cult. All that does is solidify their resistance to anything else you say, which they might otherwise make some attempt to hear.

Elon Musk, And The CyberTruck That Homer Built
by Simon ini think tesla and musk have officially jumped the shark.. did you see the "cybertruck" they released?
it's like the car that homer built!.
it has to be the ugliest vehicle ever built.

It looks like Elon was going for the tornado chaser look on that one. Add gull wing doors, and it could pass as an oversized deLorean!

What was your favorite video game?
by LoveUniHateExams ini've never been that big on video/computer games but i used to have a ps2 and my absolute fav game was star wars battlefront ii, released by pandemic in 2005.. you could choose to play as three different classes of soldier and fight for the rebels, the imperials, the republic or the battle droids.
as you played and gained points by killing the enemy, you could unlock a fourth and fifth class of soldier.
you could also play as a hero or villain - such as darth vader, luke skywalker, princess leia, etc.. there was something absolutely awesome playing as darth vader and cutting down or force-choking rebel soldiers on the tantive iv.. .

What is wrong with Hollyweird?
by LoveUniHateExams inso, the trailer for the new batwoman series was released a few days ago.. proof positive that hollywood, cw network and other movie/tv producers live in their own bubble and are continuing to push their sjw agenda.. the trailer itself has unbelievable levels of cringe at times.. batwoman happens to be a woman (if you hadn't already guessed) and an out and proud lesbian.
of course, there's nothing wrong with any of this, it just feels so forced.
within a few seconds of the trailer you get some girl-on girl action, just to hammer home the sexuality thing.

It's about the almighty dollar. Like the hookers working the Boulevard, the studios will give you whatever you're willing to pay for.

Why Register (R) jw dot org?
by pixel inso, on paragraph 9 of last's week wt study (number 30), i see the are showing the registered symbol next to jw.borg.
why would you register a website in that circusntance?
i've never seem that before.
-
GLTirebiter
After they register the trademark, they use (R) to protect that brand. It is a conventional legal notice that "JW.ORG" is a registered trademark, a preemptive tactic against claims that any infringement was unintentional or that the brand name is a generic term free for anybody to use.
While it is unusual for a religion to trademark their name, there is nothing wrong about it per se. Though it does suggest that the lawyers are calling the shots.

Seeking advice
by Mizalisa ini'm not a jw, nor was i raised jw.
for the past three years i have been involved with a man who was raised jw, who at first told me he no longer believed as they did, but who, it has become clear over time, has not told his family or religious community the truth.
he has strung me along for years, never introduced me to anyone in his life.

he has strung me along for years, never introduced me to anyone in his life.
This alone is a huge red flag, no matter which religion he follows (or claims to not really follow).

Who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
by Alex Williams inthis statement was answered in a form of a question to a question posed by one of his followers;.
jesus realized that composite slave had to qualify for such an appointment when he came into power of his kingdom promised by jehovah god.
[and they came to life and ruled as kings with the christ+ for 1,000 years].

To understand these few verses, read them in context; read all of Matthew 24 and 25 together as a single, complete discourse. Recognize the central themes of the discourse: "So if they say to you, ‘He is in the desert,’ do not go out there; if they say, ‘He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it", "But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone", "Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour", the final judgement, and salvation or damnation.
To claim a few verses in the middle of this discourse were a prophecy of a "faithful and discrete slave" showing up nineteen centuries later is shoddy scholarship. Rather, the point is that you must choose whether to be a faithful servant or a wicked, dishonest servant, that you make the choice to be a sheep on the right or a goat on the left, and that by your behavior you are choosing eternal life or eternal punishment.
Self-serving false prophets who use scripture to justify coveting a jeweled golden cup have chosen...poorly.
