Greenie, I don't think you're immature...I'd probably feel the same way.

Thanksgiving...feelin' a little annoyed...for now...
by AwSnap inwhy are there so many 'debbie downers' in this world?
you'd be *shocked* as to how many jw's are saying on facebook about "why do people choose one day a year to show thanks?
you should really show thanks everyday" .

T he Pilgrims left Plymouth, England, on September 6, 1620. Their destination? The New World. Although filled with uncertainty and peril, it offered both civil and religious liberty.
For over two months, the 102 passengers braved the harsh elements of a vast storm-tossed sea. Finally, with firm purpose and a reliance on Divine Providence, the cry of "Land!" was heard.
Arriving in Massachusetts in late November, the Pilgrims sought a suitable landing place. On December 11, just before disembarking at Plymouth Rock, they signed the "Mayflower Compact" - America's first document of civil government and the first to introduce self-government.
After a prayer service, the Pilgrims began building hasty shelters. However, unprepared for the starvation and sickness of a harsh New England winter, nearly half died before spring. Yet, persevering in prayer, and assisted by helpful Indians, they reaped a bountiful harvest the following summer.
The grateful Pilgrims then declared a three-day feast, starting on December 13, 1621, to thank God and to celebrate with their Indian friends. While this was not the first Thanksgiving in America (thanksgiving services were held in Virginia as early as 1607), it was America's first Thanksgiving Festival.

UGH!!! As my status update for today, I put: The Holiday "Thanksgiving" is meant for everyone to unite with all they are thankful for, and to be with family, friends, and rockin' food. ;-) Do people REALLY think "love and thanks" isn't shown the rest of the year? puhLeaze...if you don't want to celebrate it, then don't. But please don't judge others who do...*Ro mans 14:5,6 & Colossians 2:16* I am SO THANKFUL for everyone who knows what unconditional love is
Nobody realizes I'm an apostate....hence why I have so many jw's on my facebook. As far as everybody's concerned, I've been inactive for a really long time. I never rock the boat. But ya know what.... I'm getting really sick of it. Hmph.
Ok, rant over. I'm going to put the finishing touches on some white chocolate chip cookies, spinich dip, and tofurky
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

An Apology ..... (of sorts)
by AllTimeJeff inopinions are like certain orifices, everyone has one.. it's only if you insist that yours is the only one in the room that counts that you become like certain orifices....... with that in mind, i wish to offer a small but sincere apology to all members of our unique little community on jwn.
(that even includes perry).
now mind you, i don't apologize for the views i have, esp my political ones.

BLOOD FRACTIONS - what if all JWs knew they are a Matter of Conscience???
by insearchoftruth inif each and every jw were to accept fractions as a matter of conscience, how many of the senseless deaths could be prevented.. .
i have no idea on what is normally given to a person in a transfusion, but from some of the reading i have done, whole blood transfusions, which are strictly forbidden, are very rare.
really how dangerous is the current blood policy...if all jehovahs witnesses were made aware of what is actually allowed and accepted the fractions allowed?

That is infuriating, Mary. Well, thankfully, my jw family allows me to suggest my viewpoints occasionally as long as it's not blatently against the witnesses. There is a new baby in the family and I plan on tugging at their heartstrings with that...."My heart would be broken if ____ had to have a tranfusion and died because tranfusions weren't allowed at the time and then the Witlesses (yes, misspelled on purpose) changed their doctrine a year later?" Something to that effect.

What did you look like as a JW?
by highdose ini was going through some old photos today, i found one of myself when i was a devout jw.
it was really shocking!
i'm so thin, my cheeks are hollow, i'm as white as the wall behind me, i'm standing hunched over, and in my eyes you can see real misery.

I wore those long, floral print dresses with spaghetti straps...but the elders made me wear a long or short sleeve shirt underneath them, lol. I was VERY quiet. I was also pretty skinny from the eating disorder from everybody controlling every aspect of my life.
Now I wear spaghetti strap shirts with NO undercovering, lol.

I find this SOoooo interesting. A jw told me that back in the old days when people were supposed to bleed the animal, it was obvious that they couldn't get ALL the blood out...so that is kind of how Jehooba views it with fractions- he just doesn't want people to use WHOLE blood. its so obvious. DUH! Why didn't I understand before?
That *might* make a somewhat crazy but valid point IF the scriptures were actually talking about ANYTHING BUT EATING MEAT...but the scriptures had nothing to do with saving a life or keeping someone alive with blood transfusions.
Check out what I read in the Reasoning Book, page 70-
Animal
flesh may be eaten, but not theblood
Gen. 9:3, 4: “Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you. Only flesh with its soul—its blood—you must not eat.”
Any animal used for food should be properly bled. One that is strangled or that dies in a trap or that is found after it has died is not suitable for food. (Acts 15:19, 20; compare Leviticus 17:13-16.) Similarly, any food to which whole blood or even some blood fraction has been added should not be eaten.
So along what is read here, how in the eFF can they view a blood tranfusion fraction any different??? Seriously, they just need to suck it up and change the whole policy & admit they were wrong.
