Ok now, this one confused me. Any comments?
John 3:13 (New International Version)
13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. [a]
Well, I'll be darned Chalam....I never looked at it like that. Thanks for the reference. Here, I'll post it again: http://bible.cc/john/3-13.htm
Actually, though, I guess I'm still a little confused. It doesnt say "no one has gone to Heaven BEFORE the Son of Man." It just says NO ONE has gone to heaven except the Son of Man.

How to explain blood fractions are still blood to someone who doesn't agree...
by NiceDream indoes anyone have a good analogy or something i could use to help explain to my husband that blood fractions are still blood?
he feels that it gets to a point where it's not blood anymore.

ps...this comes straight from your REASONING BOOK, page 70
Blood
Definition:
A truly marvelous fluid that circulates in the vascular system of humans and most multicelled animals, supplying nourishment and oxygen, carrying away waste products, and playing a major role in safeguarding the body against infection. So intimately is blood involved in the life processes that the Bible says “the soul of the flesh is in the blood.” (Lev. 17:11) As the Source of life, Jehovah has provided definite instructions regarding the use to which blood may be put.Christians
are commanded to ‘abstain from blood’Acts 15:28, 29: “The holy spirit and we ourselves [the governing body of the Christian congregation] have favored adding no further burden to you, except these necessary things, to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled [or, killed without draining their blood] and from fornication. If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper. Good health to you!” (There the eating of blood is equated with idolatry and fornication, things that we should not want to engage in.)
Animal
flesh may be eaten, but not theblood
Gen. 9:3, 4: “Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you. Only flesh with its soul—its blood—you must not eat.”
Any animal used for food should be properly bled. One that is strangled or that dies in a trap or that is found after it has died is not suitable for food. (Acts 15:19, 20; compare Leviticus 17:13-16.) Similarly, any food to which whole blood or even some blood fraction has been added should not be eaten.
_______________ Ask your hubby why it is different with transfusions

I have a patient who works for the blood transfusion unit at our local hospital. She told me that there is NO way to get these fractions without getting them from blood. If there were, why don't jw's get them elsewhere?
Also, talk about screwing with the Scriptures. When we bring up how the Bible doesnt actually forbid Birthdays, the Witnesses say: "oh, but the insinuation is there. We shouldn't screw with what the Scriptures say (<----ok, OBviously paraphrased that part). So why is it different with the blood issue?
ps....if you read the whole bible, or even the sections regarding the whole "NO BLOOD" stuff, you'll see that it's not even talking about human blood, and that Jesus believed in breaking the rules if there was a life at stake

Ok, here's a few I noticed:
Mathew 5:1-3. Jesus is not speaking to a few selected ones. He speaks to the CROWDS. In fact, apparently, he had to climb a mountain so they could ALL see & hear him:
Matthew 5:1-3 (New International Version)
Matthew 5
The Beatitudes
1 Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them saying:
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ______________________________________Matthew 5:10 (New International Version)
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven._____________________________________
Matthew 5:12 (New International Version)
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

This scripture popped out at me because many jw's like to pray in resturants so that everyone sees them and thinks what a fantastic example they are setting:
Matthew 6:6 (New International Version)
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Once again, Jesus speaks to the crowds as he says this:
Matthew 7:21 (New International Version)
21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 10:7 (New International Version)
7 As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'
(I see nothing about Jesus telling them to preach to people about 'being resurrected to live on earth'.)

Luke 13:25-30 (New International Version)
25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.'
"But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'26 "Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'
27 "But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'
28 "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last."

Luke 16:20-24
22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In hell, [a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

Matthew 8:11 (New International Version)
11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 22:29-30 (New International Version)
29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, 30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Luke 23:42-43 (New International Version)

Jesus Comforts His Disciples
1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God [a] ; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going." ____________________________________________________ Ok, here's a random one I'm throwing in here. I am making note because I remember thinking to myself: If the holy spirit is just an energy force, why does this scripture make it sound like a person of sorts?
John 14:25-26 (New International Version)
25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

There are not many references to this scripture in the WT Library. This one is from 1978. 9/1 pg 28. I do not understand what this means.

When Jesus ascended to heaven and appeared in Jehovah’s presence, he offered to Jehovah his “blood” or the value of it as a redemption price. (Heb. 9:12-14; John 6:61, 62) Since the blood belonged to Jehovah, the drinking of it and the eating of the flesh of Jesus would indicate having a meal with Jehovah. God would thus be sharing the blood of his Lamb Jesus Christ with the disciples of this Lamb. Jesus spoke of such a meal with Jehovah as the Greater Abraham, when he foretold that many Gentile believers (like the believing Gentile “army officer”) would come from all parts of the earth and “recline at the table with Abraham [Jehovah] and Isaac [Jesus Christ] and Jacob [the spirit-begotten Christian congregation] in the kingdom of the heavens.”—Matt. 8:5-12.
