4. 2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.
This was another “too-hot-to-handle” verse Scott threw in my lap. The traditions (Dare I say, traditions) that these early
Christian were to hold fast to were not just the written letters and Gospels that would eventually make up the New Testament,
but the oral tradition. And even more significant, the context of Paul’s letters indicates that his normal, preferred way of
passing along “what he had received” was orally; his written letters were an accidental, sometimes unplanned add-on,
dealing with immediate problems—leaving unsaid so much of what they had learned through oral teaching.
LOLOLO! They were TAUGHT by both- and when taught by WORD it was BASED on scripture- including what Christ
taught, which was put into writing- and the spirit directed it.

Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

3. 2 Timothy 3:14-17
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed,
knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been
acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you for salvation
through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of
God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Verses 16-17 were the texts I and others had always turned to buttress our belief in sola
Scriptura, so to this I quickly turned my attention. Among many things, three important
things became very clear, for the first time: (1) when Paul used the term “scripture” in this
verse, he could only have meant when we call the Old Testament. The New Testament
canon would not be established for another 300 years! (2) “All” scripture does not mean
“only” scripture nor specifically what we have in our modern bibles. And (3), the emphasis
in the context of this verse (vereses 14-15) is the trustworthiness of the oral tradition
Timothy had received from his mother and others—not sola Scriptura!
Mad: They were to continue in the TRUTH from the Mosaic Law and Christ's words- NOT
church tradition which is as corrupt as the tradition of Judiasm in Jesus' day- and is even
MORE corrupted now! -

2. 1 Timothy 3: 14-15
I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these instructions to you so that,
if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God,
which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.
Scott Hahn pulled this one on me. “So, Marc, what is the pillar and foundation of truth?”
I answered, “The Bible, of course.” “Oh yeah? But what does the Bible say?” “What do you mean?”
When he told me to look up this verse, I suspected nothing. I had taught and preached through First
Timothy many times. But when I read this verse, it was as if it had suddenly appeared from nowhere,
and my jaw dropped. The Church!? Not the Bible? This alone sent my mind and essentially my whole
life reeling; the question of which Church was one I was not ready to broach.
Big Revelation... -

1. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
First, try putiing God's Name back in the verse. Second, Jesus said the ONLY ones that would be drawn to him were the ones drawn by his FATHER. -

When did Jehovah's Witnesses begin to consider their religion the one true religion?
by garyneal inyesterday, my wife and i was going for a walk in the neighborhood.
she was carrying my niece and commenting on how heavy she is.
i told her that apparently her sister has to carry her child, diaper bag, and her things to the bus stop every morning.

Hey, Babel- I lost track of this topic- sorry!
1- He was the KING of the Kingdom- so of COURSE he was at hand! He later gave the prophecies about the Last days.
2- The Good News about the Kingdom is NOT just about the Earth! Those of us not sealed to rule just have a natural interest in the Earth's future!
3- Jesus was telling Lazarus' sister about the Future- when DEATH will be ended- 1 Cor 15:26. Lazarus died, was resurrected- then later died AGAIN! His sister died. Jesus died- REALLY! heh The time will come when the dead (yes- they are REALLY dead) will be resurrected and judged!
4-Paul wasn't persecuted for using ANY name- but for exposing false religions- including Judiasm!
5-We don't persecute CHURCHianity- just condemn and expose its foul lies about God and Christ.
6-Jesus is either 'parousia' or he isn't; if these are NOT the Last Days, then once again, we have misunderstood the prophecies- along with all the churches!
What is the "good news" YOU preach? That believers can go to heaven?

Time of The END ????
by wobble ina number of religions ,not just the wacky dubs, claim we are in the "time of the end ".
now, leaving out silly numbers and 1914, which was blown away years ago, what do such apocalyptic doom-mongerers have from scripture to give this idea credence ?.
the only thing i can think of , apart from the "cry of peace and security " which is no proof at all, is daniels dream image in dan chap.
