  My sucky situation

  hi guys,.

  sadly some of them had been in bethel for 5 - 10 years and were still cleaning toilets.. after about 2 years of it i couldn't do it anymore.

  i always knew something wasn't quite right with this organization.

  I have finally did it and I will graduate from college with my BA degree in Sociology.

  well everybody i told you all a few years back how hard it was to be in college at the age of 40. i thought my hair was going to fall out trying to keep up with the young college kids in math and science.

  but now 3 years later i will be graduating this november with my ba degree.

  i just love school and will be applying for graduate school to get my ma.

  Remain Close to the Governing Body DC

  i just finished all 3 days of the dc and, for what it's worth, wanted to get down some of the highlights i enjoyed.

  i went with family and i only did it for them, and hope to never attend another assembly ever again.. .

  the whole thing was pretty boring and uncomfortable due to the stadium style seating which doesn't favour my long legs and ac being blasted too high.. .

  I rarely come across anyone that even looks at these aside from opposed ex-Jehovah's Witnesses. Opposed ex-Jehovah's Witnesses don't seem to care about these websites anyway.

  AIW is one of many an active JW who freely participates on this website alongside DF'd persons, apostates, faders etc. Also AIW, re-read your statement "opposed ex-Jehovah's Witnesses" - does this sound logical?!?

  Blondie, you are in good company. She's not speaking to me either. It seems that when anyone counters any of her rantings in a coherent, reasonable, factual way; AIW labels that person an apostate as an excuse not to answer anymore questions.

  How did you personally endure the torture during the DC?

  my assembly was a couple of weeks ago and lets just say the only way i could possibly get through that b.s was by having some "funny stuff" before the sessions, then to my car at lunch.

  pretty much slept the days away.

  my wife would constintaly ask me what was wrong with me, i said i was feeling really sick.

  Why are anniversaries okay?

  i'm sure this topic has been brought up before.

  i was at a jw graduation party yesterday and realized "if birthday parties are not okay because they supposedly bring undue attention to an individual, why are graduation parties and wedding anniversaries okay?

  " they both glorify individuals and put them on a pedestal.

  Thanks Blondie for posting this. I was able to use the "negative doesn't mean lies" angle in talking openly with my dub family.

  St-Ann, that experience is incredible. You saved three families, you are the WTBS worst nightmare, LOL. This KM is not going to help the dubs to counter stories/experiences like yours and the internet.

  This is a good idea but what if you have a jw zealot mate sitting next to you all 3 days? For those who have to go through this with someone who is a strict "believer".

  The mp3 would be good in your case because the program is broadcasted on FM radio. Tell the zealot that you are listening to the program, then turn on some music or even an audio book. Or you could tell the zealot that you are volunteering and go sit in the car, at the cafe or the hotel if it's in walking distance.

  I'm going to be visiting dub family the week of their DC so I may go on Sunday to hear the Gen Talk and laugh at the drama. I'll also get the new pubs since i'm there.

  My recipe for survival: mp3 player, novels, blackberry and sit in a high, isolated area to catch some zzz's.

  Atm machines next to contribution boxes at 2010 DC

  two friends came over and told me at the long beach convention they had atm machines distributed around the main lobby of the arena so the brothers could pull out cash and donate more freely.

  anyone else hear of this at any other conventions of satan?.

  If I remember correctly, no amount of money needed was mentioned at the end but it was announced to make checks out to, I think, Christian Congregation of something or other.

  They usually don't make the 'cash grab' announcement at the DC because of the general public are more likely to be in attendance because of the DC invitation campaign. They make a point of noting of the invitations the lack of collection plates. I guess contribution boxes at every ATM don't count.
