i've noticed we have a few male posters here with wives who are still in the jws.
and i can think of one female poster (cognac) with a husband in the jws (although things are looking up for her).
of course we have a few spouses that came out together.. is it me, or does it seem like the women here are more likely to have divorced their jw husband--even before leaving--whereas the men are more likely to stay with their wives?
my still-jah-widiot ex-wife was very abusive - emotionally and physically. apparently it was okay with the elders for her slander, endless puerile tirades, destruction of my property, physical abuse of me - after all, it was my fault because i didn't study with her more ... or pray more ...
that went on for almost 8 years before i had enough and left.
what is the most recent wt that states that only jw's will survive armegeddon?

This is easily is the supidest comment I ever read. As to the question from the original poster I would say the percentage of Witnesses who wait until marraige is much higher than non-Witnesses.
um ... what does 'supidest' mean? and marraige? a little bit ironic that someone calling someone else's comment 'stupid' mistypes and says the comment is 'supid'

Well worth the expense. oh and imagine that! there's actually a 'spell check' button right here on the forums! wow! whoever came up with spellcheck .. now that guy or girl was NOT supid. personally i hate supid people. supid people just suck. kind of reminds me of a particular supid cult that insists on its supid members remaining marraiged even when not compatible. now that's easily the supidest thing i ever read.

as one who grew up "in the truth", i recognized that the most important goal i could ever have was "to be used" in jehovah's service (aka the organization).
when i was a kid i pioneered every summer for at least one month, sometimes more.
i was the timekeeper for the theocratic ministry school as a child.
i tried reaching out for years. i could never figure out why i wasn't appointed a servant. then one day it hit me ... i actually use my brain and think as opposed to just following "theocratic" misdirection from a group of self-serving fat jerks loyal servants who are deserving of my boot up their arses double-honor.
especially those that no longer go to any meetings, but even those that still go- how much wt literature do you read or scan over?.

i encountered some private conversations among witnesses about the subject and it's ugly.
yes, there is suffering as many of these victims try to live on charity and can't find jobs in the worst economy since the depression.. some of their private observations include shock that you need a college degree for nearly any job and that the watchtower society couldn't have picked a worse time to do this to them .. all the while these complaints are discussed, i try not to show that i am astounded by their bizarre "logic".
The worst part is that although I know I should rally and get on with my life and pursue freedom, there is something like a "self-destruct mechanism" planted in my brain by JW teachings. "The world is hopeless. Look at all the problems. There are no real friends out there. Nobody who leaves is really happy." And all my friends and family are in the bOrg. Although I'm trying to fade and ease my mind and life away from the cult, it's a battle to admit that I've wasted so much time and energy on a lie.
although i never went to bethel, i grew up in this cult and didn't know anything else. i liken it to Stephen King's most-outstanding story "The Shawshank Redemption" ... we became institutionalized ...
fortunately, for us, hope (as represented by Andy DuFresne) is really there - just gotta crawl thru a pipe of crap to get there
