Another thing that people don't usually think about before becoming parents...
...birth control.
i never had to think about what a massive predicament it is to be watching your 6 month old alone and having a massive dump come along that you know is going to take 10-15 minutes...especially if your child is being really fussy.. -sab.

what are your thoughts on them?
would i be a simply terrible person if i became one?.
.
Have you though about other options like a second Job?
She's already working two jobs, so do you mean a third? One full time job, two part time jobs, and school is asking a bit much of anyone.

I'm sorry to hear that... I think that it comes down to what your conscience can deal with. Personally, I could not be with someone who was married unless their spouse was aware and supportive of the situation.
I'm rather shocked by how judgmental people on this board have been on this particular topic... at least without knowing more about your situation.
And on an unrelated note, to the people asking about 'daughters being prostitutes', if my daughter decided she wanted to be a prostitute (at a reputable establishment, not a streetwalker, which adds a whole different set of problems that are less academic), I would be as supportive as I would if she wanted to work at a sewage treatment plant. I think it's a sucky job and wouldn't want to do it myself, but whatever floats your boat.
if it were done by a group of children in school to another student the school would consider it a form of bullying.
are dubs bullying other dubs when they do this?
to me it seems like a form childish behavior that you would only expect to see in grade school..
The WT's adult version of shunning is Satanic and extremely destructive to emotional health.
Satan ain't got nothing to do with it. Poor guy gets a bad rep for a lot of stuff that just plain isn't his fault.
I like the view of bullying though, you do have a point. And schoolyard shunning, for those of you that disagree, CAN be as long-lasting as JW shunning. I've experienced it myself. <_<
i plan on inviting a close family member ..(who has been a jw for several years).. to share thanksgiving with us this year.
my husband and i have never been jws.
what exactly is a jw's reason for not taking part in thanksgiving??.
When was the last time anyone was disfellowshipped for gluttony?
They don't need to be. Gluttony is too expensive for a JW.
i never became a zelouse witness, but i do remember being a borg kid.
there was no one my age at the meetings for most of my childhood.
except at one stage there was this half in half out family who had a fat annoying kid who never stopped boasting.
My experience was very similar, but we always had kids around my age in the congregation... Thing was, though, that my congregation was very cliquish. People were divided between those that had "money" and those that didn't. I'm not quite sure if it WAS a money issue, that's just what I remember. Either way, my family was always on the outside looking in. I was always desperately lonely, and the only time I was briefly able to branch out was during my freshman and sophomore years when I was in marching band.
if you love science fiction, please share your thoughts ... or your own tales of the great beyond.. thanks, .

i awake in a place that, clearly, is not home.. as i look about in a blurry daze, the expected trappings of bed, chair and scuffed, dirty walls have disappeared during my wretched slumber.
I prefer fortissississimo(ffff)... Known affectionately in my band as "kill babies" loud, but otherwise a big
i mean something really serious that you won't forgive/forget..
I got off pretty easy... Most hurtful thing a JW ever did to me was my mother told my (now ex)fiance (not the lovely girl in my picture ^_^) that if she decided to leave me and become a JW, my mom would disown me and she could be her daughter.
Oh, and mustn't forget the ever-lovely 'it would be good if you died in a car accident, because then I could see you in the new system'.
i never heard about the smurfs being evil until i joined the forum.
but when i look in the volume library, the word doesn't come up.
i was wondering if anyone ever heard mention of it in the literature--as in, was it an official position?.
one thing you may want to look up..... there were some "pop culture" phenomenon that were criticized in the pages of the awake, usually watching the world. A few examples I recall were something called "garbage pail kids" ( there were very popular in my area) and Pokémon. The blurbs were short but they showed an overreaction to something basically innocent.
I don't remember them criticizing Pokemon per se... I think they talked about the infamous Porygon seizures incident... Though I do remember having to defend my ass off about my extensive Pokemon collection. (Which is quickly becoming more extensive ^_^)
I heard a bit about the smurfs in the Lie, but the big thing I remember hear about being evil was the Cabbage Patch Kids.
i just finished a marvelous book - "life after death" by dinesh d'souza.
he is an articulate and clever christian apologist who comes up with creative argumentation against atheism and nihilist thought.
while i do not agree with all his conclusions (and i wonder if his reasonings on life after death are a better defense of buddhist ideas rather than christian), i do highly recommend his work.
Sounds interesting... I'll probably read it after I finish The God Delusion. LoL
The JWs are on the trail end of almost everything... I'm amazed when I think about how thoroughly a lot of their arguments have been debunked.
