  My Great-Grandmother Died This Morning

  she's been really bad for quite a while, and passed away in her sleep.

  she lived to be a ripe old age, and even got to meet some of her great-great grandchildren (not mine... i don't have any kids), which is not something that can be said for a lot of people.

  she loved music, and took organ lessons for many of the last years of her life, something that we really connected on, despite the fact that she was a, for lack of a better word, crazy jw that pioneered for years after she wasn't able to attend meetings in person.. from what i understand, the majority of people people never meet their great-grandparents, and for that i should consider myself lucky, but still i'll miss her.

  Local Congregations Convention Today...

  ...and apparently they all wanted to come into my workplace afterwards for ice cream.

  don't know why, but when i saw all the convention badges coming at me, i started to feel anxious, light headed, and nauseous.

  fortunately, i managed to hide it well enough to finish my shift, but i'm trying to get someone to work for me tomorrow (when they'll probably be back... heard they were also there yesterday).. .

  as many of you should know, i have a rather large axe to grind with regards to jehovah's witnesses.

  Interesting Experience...

  so my girlfriend and i were walking to the post office and this really quiet guy comes up and comments that he likes my shirt (black shirt that says "lucifer" in white text).

  he then goes on to say that he's a monk and wants us to have this "free" book on meditation.

  my girlfriend is big into meditation, so she's like "okay" and starts looking at it, and then he tells us that he can't give it to us unless we make a donation so that they can pay to print another book.

  i found this mildly amusing while searching for the alleged quote where the watchtower quoted someone quoting them in the creation book.

  i figured that i may as well take advantage of the nice university library while i have the chance.

  on that note, if anyone knows the quote and what it is taken from, send me a pm.. .

  My First Halloween

  this year is going to be my first halloween away from the jw parents.

  what should i dress as?

  some of my dorm mates suggested dressing up as a jw, complete with "washtowel" and "asleep!
