i'm sure that's exactly what was going through the minds of the people who got destroyed in the days of the flood...they thought noah was foolish in building an ark...they didn't heed the warning til it was too late....they even pretty close to the statement of "Where is your flood?" just like most people are saying today "Where is your Armageddon?" Yes it took many years...i do believe 40 years for the flood to finally come about and destroy everyone that didn't take Noah's warning seriously..and again people were saying "Where is your flood?" people were even making fun of noah in those days because they saw no use in him building a boat...but guess what...they believed in Noah's warnings a lil too late....there is no set amount of day nor hour that armageddon is suppose to come...just like there was no set day or hour for the flood to come...its going to come sooner or later...on jehovah's time. not our time, but jehovah's...

im not a jw...so i wont be disfellowshipped nor disassociated...plus i have respect for jws and people of any religion i dont invite ppl when im doing something thats against one's religion...i have not personally known of a jw that got disfellowshipped for anything that is not listed in the bible...i'm not saying it doesn't happen either...but the jws i personally know say it is a conscious decision whether one partakes in things of that sort...not something to be disfellowshipped about...what i meant about jw don't force celebrating of holidays on people is that hey holidays are still being celebrated right??

anyways all in all..we all have the right to free will...God did give us that gift...what happens to us with our free will well that's everyone's choice...adam and eve had free will look where that got them...look where that got us...the people of noah's time had free will everyone but noah's family and a lot of animals were spared...look what happened with the rest of the ones who didn't survive look where their free will got them...jws dont force people to not celebrate holidays and such...its everyone's choice not to celebrate or to celebrate pagan holidays

none of the first century christians did any holiday celebrating nor celebrated their own birthdays...so why is it such a big deal today?? i'm sure most of us know the answer of why jws do the wedding anniversaries...it's because God created marriage...sure adam and eve didn't walk down the aisle her dressed in wedding gown and adam dressed in tux...they were created by God...his own hands!!!! to actually have God hand make you would be a blessing and an honor!!! unfortunately none of us have the privilege for God to handmake us since then...but thats the reason why jws have wedding anniversaries is because that's a god given celebration...it's not a holiday...it's a celebration...God never told us to celebrate jesus birthday...Jesus said for us to remember him.."do this in remembrance of me." in fact, to even celebrate jesus birthday doesn't one need to know the EXACT date that a person was born in order to even celebrate the birth?? i dont know about you guys...but does anywhere in the bible say Jesus was born on December 25??? If there is scripture and i dont care what translation of bible i can look up on internet i would like to see this...and the description of his birth points to that jesus wasn't even born in december...even a lot of people that not even studying with jws, other people of other faiths, religions know that jesus wasn't born on december 25.

never have i seen anything about studying with the witnesses did i see that we cant eat breakfast cereal if someone can point to me the watchtower magazine that is in please do so...that's something i seriously want to see jws banning people from eating breakfast cereal?? i can understand if it has to do with lucky charms...lol...but completely not eating breakfast cereal of anykind???
hmmm...ok the celebrating of the birthdays...honestly people are doing paganism things with the birthdays...putting candles on the cake and making a wish...that has to do with "magic"...and i'm sure we all know through the studying of the bible and such...not only do the jws know that holidays are pagan but....other people do i mean if we do our research on how holidays got their origins and such jws are not teaching anything new to anybody when it comes to holidays if people do research on the holidays...the birthdays are celebrating the god of that day the child was born..and to top that off birthdays are like self-centered type thing...conceited if you will.
to the poster who wrote about celebrating their mom on her birthday...appreciating her...on "her" day...seriously??? you wait 364 days to tell your mom you appreciate her?? for jws they are taught to give gifts all year around....whenever they felt like it...why feel special on only a few days out of the year?? when people are suppose to show their appreciation to people in their lives everyday?? that's what i love about the jws that they have respect for people in showing they care not on just a few "special days" out of the whole year...but they teach people to show appreciation to others all year round...the jws don't celebrate birthdays because of 2 bad incidents in the bible..they explain in more full depth of why they don't in one case it's celebrating of other gods in which Jehovah as we all know is a jealous god and no other god is to be before him.
sure a lot of stuff is celebrated with not the pagan origins in mind...but why sugarcoat stuff? oh the easterbunny is for the kiddos...when in actuality the easter bunny and the egg has to do with different gods/goddesses??? its like the poison in the drink...oh the drink looks refreshing...hey it even tastes good but when that drink is finished...the person is 6 foot under....DEAD!!!

Other Religions use the Name JEHOVAH too
by UnDisfellowshipped inare jehovah's witnesses really the only religion that promotes and preaches the name of jehovah?.
jw's are always claiming that they are the only religion that preaches and uses the name jehovah, and that is why only they will be saved.
for example, look at this quote from the watchtower:.

of course other religions use the name of Jehovah. But it's of what they do with the name is what's important. It's nothing new that other religions use the name of Jehovah. Because the name of Jehovah has been known for years...decades...milleniums...you name it...
Do various religions truly understand what the name of Jehovah means?
Do they know why they are saying his name?
I honestly have not heard of Jehovah until i came into contact with jws when i was a child. I honestly have not heard much of religions saying anything about his name til jws have used it and have been growing strong...so perhaps because of the growth of jws...and that jws have been going from house-to-house and everywhere they can catch someone who's willing to listen...and that the various religious church-goers ask their pastor or whoever about Jehovah and such...perhaps that's the reason why various religions use the name of Jehovah now these days..

on the whole college thing....it is a conscience matter anyways today....i know quite a few jws that are going to college...tons of jws go to vo-tech school during and after high school...there are even online college courses you can take and jws can spend as little or as much time as they want to on the online college courses...
but for myself regardless of what religion i am, i chose not to do the whole college thing. I mean just look at the economy...look at how the career/jobs are anyways. college is just another headache..college is all nothing but getting most people in trouble with fraternities...sororities...etc...etc...mostly drinking, wild parties, and sex. another bill that parents of the college students or the college students themselves have to pay in the long run and their degree now these days don't even count as much, even with degrees it doesn't seriously guarantee you a higher paying job.
