You could be onto something there never a jw.
I would opt for the same interpretation.
Human society is now on the cusp of "change or die" on many fronts.
Progressive and radical new ways and insights do seem to be gaining traction.
is the answer to my question "yes" or is it more bs from rutherford, just like the meaning of matthew 8:11 according to the fds.. in page 19 of the book "millions now living will never die" you will find the following:.
"again jesns said that the war, famine and pestilence would be followed by earthquakes it was not unusual for jesus to use symbolic language; in fact, he often used symbolic language or dark sayings to conceal the real meaning until the due time should come.
in biblical symbology earthquake means revolution.

after two months of not coming to my house, today about two hours ago, one of the elders that came two months ago came to my house.
he was in serve-us with other brothers from the spanish cong and came into my house with a friend of mine (not another elder).
he said he wanted to talk to me, and he said it in front of my mom and my dad (both were there).. what was interesting is that it seems like it will be a one-on-one for half-hour.
One important rule is YOU ask the questions and THEY provide answers.
They do NOT get to ask questions, and you do NOT answer any.
A simple question like: "is legalism apostasy" should see them tied in knots they can never unravel (provided you are fully familiar and can see and gently call their ignorance and misdirection, with more questions, or with a not satisfactory rating).
Personally I would forever hold out on them for a clear, honest, unambigious answer that makes sense and is from the heart and lines up perfectly with g79 6/8 pp. 27-28 (and ISoCF as well as CoC).
so here i am after about 18 months of wake up.
the first 6 months were a rollercoster of feelings as my whole belief system unravelled.
the last year has been more stable but things seem like they are just stalling now.. my wife is aware of many of my feelings although i have held back the fact that i am pretty close to denying all belief in any kind of god.
Would you beat a blind man with a stick and demand he see?
No?
Well then why would you consider doing this to your wife?
She needs to be gently prepared or led - in other words the lights must come on first, before she can see or deal with the astounding flaws of the corrupt Watchtower organisation.
In simple terms she needs to really grasp the thrust of ISoCF before being able to deal with CoC. She needs a soft landing - not a crash landing.
At any rate it worked for our family.
It was a process not an event.
It took 1 year of preparation, followed by 2.5 years of intense and very rewarding family study.
Best wishes on the journey to a renewed and happy family.
or should i say some things.... reading over another thread and a number of other threads i have to ask, why are we making excuses for jesus / god.. how can you fathom and all powerful god who created the universe and all the laws that govern it was not capable of:.
1. making sure the proper pronunciation of his name is not available.
2. that all his teaching are not preserved in an easy to discern manner so that ther is no confusion.
From scripture we learn that there are those that are children of God (our heavenly father) and those that are children of Satan the Devil (our evil step-father).
These two parents are locked in a bitter, complex and protracted legal custody battle over us the children.
We choose which parent's family we want to belong to by opting to accept the adoption terms of either parent.
Religion outlines our evil step-father's terms (albeit deceptively and surreptitiously). We are not told that there is arsenic in the honey.
The "unabridged gospel" or "full good news" outlines our heavenly father's outrageously generous terms, secured upon payment of a priceless ransom price to our evil step-father. The details are hidden in plain sight throughout scripture such that those who legally belong to our evil step-father cannot see, touch or subvert - thereby preserving for those who would accept the terms and yield to them.
i want to talk about my story because i need help and advice and most impirtant a lot of comfort.. one year and a half ago i met a wonderful guy.
he was really nice and supporyed me during hard moments.
i slowly fell in love with him.
Welcome Accio.
Maybe one day you will be able to look back and see he has actually spared you much wasted time and pain which are an unavoidable part of this cult where parents reject their own children if they choose to leave the cult.
That having been said, it is natural to grieve over lost love.
only in a "new world" like world the above claim wouldn't make sense.
but what are the pros and cons of life?.
just think about it..
Wouldn't that make your own existence immoral?
Not sure if I understand...
spinning off from another thread, have jesus' teachings been less than universally helpful to mankind?
how do we measure if a particular philosophy is helpful or harmful?.
i am going to use the "universal morals" listed here.
I'm wondering if the framework and intent of the user is what really determines how Jesus' teachings are used and the outcome (good vs evil).
i in a rest.
eating lunch an older lady comes in with her 2 kids.
the lady is fussy and i give her my table.
Maybe one or more of them needed it at this time, and will thank you one day...
i'm pretending the gb decided to hire a ceo to combat dwindling membership and overall apathy.
here is a list of the changes i would make to the organization if i were hired as ceo.
feel free to list your ideas (serious and humorous)!.
1. Anyone is free to leave the organization without shunning
2. Get rid of JCs.
3. Focus explicitly on the "unabridged gospel" or "full Good News"
4. Revert to being a book publishing company
5. Convert KHs to community service centres
hello all, it is nice to have a forum for former jw's and see i wasn't the only one out there having serious doubts.
my parents got into it when i was about 4 years old.
my family was part of the granville ny congregation.. my dad in time became an elder.
Welcome goldiver, you're in good company.
Looking forward to reading more about your experiences.
Good on you for making a new life.
Greetings
Fernando
