  HELP--Please!!!

  i would really appreiate it if anyone knows of a blow by blow comparison that has been done with the new world translation, and the interliner!!!.

  Episodes of Craziness

  over the last ten years or so i`ve seen and heard things which when.

  looked at objectively can only be termed `craziness`.however, in some.

  cases these episodes of craziness might be viewed as wonderful testimonies to a strong commitment to jahovah.

  When I stepped up to the register to pay for my stuff
  she looked up at me and seeing who I was got that `terrified` look in
  her face that JWs get when they see someone they aren`t supposed to
  associate with.

  A similar thing happened to me a few months ago. A public school in our area needed serious dollars for repairs to remain open. My wife and I contacted some folks and organizations who might help, and introduced them to the school administration. While walking through the school with this group I saw a JW working as a teacher's aid in the hallway. I looked at her and said, "Good morning Mary, how are you and the family doing?"

  This poor JW turned colors, started perspiring, and stuttered. The principle, vice-principle, and guests stood there looking confused as she finally excused herself and left! I dismissed her behavior by saying, "Apparently she's still a Jehovah's Witness." Well, that only added to their bewilderment, but we continued the building tour.

  Before leaving, the principle apologized to me privately. (I'll bet she had a few things to share with the Witness after I left.)

  When did you think Armageddon would come?

  i was just thinking about this.

  having been raised "in the truth" post-1975, i didn't grow up with any specific year in mind.

  yes, there was the notion of "this generation will by no means pass away," but by the time i was old enough to think about that concept, the people who were born in 1914 (to stretch it out as far as possible, as the society ultimately did) were still only in their 60's.

  From 1966 to 1975, I really thought Armageddon would start sometime during the fall of 1975. I remember vacationing with another JW family during fall 1974, and talking about this being the last time we would vacation together in this system of things. When I asked them about our expectations a few years later, they shut all communication off to me because I was trying to "stumble them." Talk about a cult mind-set . . .

  I will say this about old fella, he personally is a very good person.

  Thanks for the information; you seem to know a great deal about Cole, and I appreciate your comments. I know many good people that are still JWs, too. I'm sure Witnesses like Cole struggle with moral issues inasmuch as they're part of a religion that brushes morality aside when it gets in the way. Surely he knows the book was presented dishonestly even if the Tower encouraged the false representation. It would be a shame for Cole to die taking the rap of misrepresentation to the grave while the real culprit gets away with the scam.

  I like M's suggestion, and I'm willing to buy the "good Scotch" to help Cole leave this system of things with a clear conscience. The information could be held while he's alive to avoid personal embarrassment.

  Nothing new. Same as last time. And the time before.

  Well, if you stop and think about it, the truth is always the same and doesn't need to change unlike the "new light" from the Watchtower. That should say something about Alan's comments Alternative; it should also say something about a religion that calls their flip-flops "new light."
