Thanks for posting the Armageddon Survivor Diary. I've seen a few others like it posted a various times in the past 25 years, but it was a good read and I believe a very accurate novel of life in the Watchtower New World Order. Hitler could only hope to be as powerful as the jerks in the Brooklyn headquarters. Thanks for sharing!

i haven't followed the generation change in the doctrine that closely, just read a few snippets of the overlapping generations doctrine.
i find this hard to believe even for the pathological liars the governing body.. has anyone seen the 4/15/2010 watchtower with their own eyes?.
can anyone validate that the wtbts really is saying this overlapping generation idea the way it is being quoted on the internet in a few places?
As one older member told me many years ago, "If the Watchtower says that black is white, then black is white." Reason is unreasonable to the mindset of a JW. The next issue of the WT could be totally blank and the faithful would see it as a sign from above. It doesn't matter what is written in the WT because it's "the Truth" after it's printed--at least until the next issue.

Common sense tells us that it's a myth. However, "common sense" isn't so common with folks of "the Truth" or other sects. 2 + 2 = 7 because the Bible tells me so.
a book on jws containing contributions from more than 10 professionals, giving different angles on jw doctrine, organization, life and culture has been published by the norwegian university press publishing ho... a jw is also contributing, allowing the jws to give a self-presentation.... it is rolf furuli who has written that part, he is also coordinator in an oslo congregation and is working at the university of oslo.. in fact, my parents intends to read the book, and that is good, cause it also mentions information not commonly known among regular jws, e.g.
mexico/malawi etc... it also gives the web address to a number of support web sites for "disgruntled" witnesses.. the book has come into existence also in cooperation with brooklyn hqs and the national branch office providing information and literature.. a good reading, accurate, containing less than five actual mistakes in close to 200 pages ;-)... (one minor one in the witness chapter.
he says in general witnesses are ambassadors of god s kingdom.. and shows this by reference to 2. cor.
Unless written by the Society, I'm not sure many JWs would feel at ease reading it, in that Satan takes on many forms, and all of that rot. However, if it helps some to take an honest look at the Tower, great.
I wonder if Kent and Norm had any influence in it?

the budget has allocated some $11 billion for this task, to include sending counters door-to-door asking personal questions about people's habits in addition to counting the number of people.
I don't think so--they're looking for HONEST reporting. Another issue, they want people that can walk faster than a snail.

Having a sperm donor is adultery, but getting screwed by the Watchtower is Jehovah's Service.

Wow, Psy Parrot, I haven't seen that much JW swill at one time in a long time. My JW spouse used to tell me "you're not humble enough." I had a shirt made for her that read, "Humble, and Proud of It" For some reason she didn't like it.

"To tell the truth . . ." bugs me. I want to ask if they usually lie? Of course with the Watchtower, we know the answer.
will this perhaps only "appear" as destruction of religion?.
could it be that religion will simply go through a reformation?.
hasn't the political and religious element always been bedfellows?.
I think religion and politics will always be in conflict to some degree because both are into power and influence. It's difficult to point to a time when that has not been the case throughout history. I don't believe it's a biblical sign anymore than the rainbow is a sign concerning floods. Things like this just happen.
my sister, a devoted jw of many decades, has chosen to attend another church.
she has been given a period of time to come to her senses and get back in line.
hopefully, she won't make that mistake.. the way she's being treated now by her former friends and leaders caused her to remark to me, "i never realized before how much they are like a cult.".
Good for her!
I'm a little surprised the elders didn't disfellowship as soon as they found out she was attending church. That's a sin in the eyes of most cults like the Watchtower, as well as questioning the sect.
