  Was it worth meeting with the judicial committee?

  for those of you who met with a judicial committee and were subsequently da'd or df'd, was it worth the time and effort?

  did the elders let you speak your piece, or were they only interested in hearing that key word or phrase that would allow them to act?

  was there genuine interest shown, proboing questions asked, did they really want to know how you felt?

  I remember reading about numerous JWs that lost their lives and countless others beaten in Malawi. The Tower has a lot of blood on their hands. Speaking of?how many have died who are forced into believing a transfusion is the same as eating animal blood?

  That?s very insightful, Rocketman. There is nothing like holding up an extra carrot to bolster KH attendance. When it?s all said and done, the flock leaves with the same feelings they had after the last ?Special Announcement,? wondering why they arrived early and saved seats.

  Taking a little break from JWD

  i'm taking a little break to enjoy the real world and catch up on all the work i have let slide since i met all of you bad, bad apostates.

  my kids are out for spring break next week and we are going to go hang out with the hippies in asheville, nc as well, so it's going to be a busy two weeks.

  i look forward to catching up again in april...especially looking forward to the big post from dave on the 12 step program.

  I enjoy visiting Asheville, NC too. But if you?re looking for a little ?hippie? town, try Yellow Springs, OH. They have a neat old liberal arts college, Antioch, but the place folds up at 5:00 P.M. :-) Have fun with the kids!

  **voting and holding a political card is now a conscience matter. More "new light."** Wow?I can expect a letter from the Tower saying how sorry they are for the mix-up. Jah is truly great! I?ll check my mailbox now, maybe it?s already there. Thanks mjl, I feel the love from the Tower's "new light." :-)

  have to say there's a story in the bible where jesus is walking down the street, and a guy comes up to him, he's got a daughter who's sick.

  and jesus goes -- he goes, "i need you to heal my daughter.

  The bookstores are full of ?diet? and ?God loves you? books. The diet and God books sell because we eat too much (or eat the wrong foods), and we want to be loved. Is ?wanting to believe enough? to lose weight? Try that and watch the scales. Does ?wanting to believe? that God/Jesus healed someone make it so? Walk through any graveyard for the answer. If the Tower had the power to heal, they would be impossible to live with; they already think they speak for the Big Guy!

  jesus admitted he didn't know when the present system of things would end.. but russell and rutherford insisted that they did know when the present system of things would end.

  russell 1914 rutherford 1925.. also the governing body knew 1975 etc.. jesus waited on his father.russell, rutherford and the gb.were and unable to wait.. blueblades

  Disparaging Terms

  "apostate" is the most hateful, disparaging term in watchtower vocabulary.. yet, on page 15 of the dec.1st, 1984 watchtower they say,"it would be unscriptural for us ( wbts ) to use disparaging terms when referring to ones who do not share our belief.".

  talk about hypocrisy!

  when anyone calls you an apostate, point them to this wt.and watch their reaction.. blueblades

  If I had it to do over again, I would have told them to take a flying leap. They came to my house, and they did their little dance for about 30 minutes. One of the elders that I didn't know was interesting; when I told them I voted for a school issue, his lip actually curled--no kidding! My JW-spouse is the one who turned me in for voting (which supported our two children's education). I'm an evil person. ;-)

  Living Church of God & the Watchtower

  i?m sure most of you have seen some coverage about the murder/suicide by a member of the evangelical church called the living church of god.

  the church was founded in the mid-1990?s when it split from herbert w. armstrong?s worldwide church of god.

  the living church observes the sabbath on saturday along with other old testament rituals.
