Thanks all for your kind words. I just found out a good friend of mine's mother died early this morning. So that puts things in perspective right now.

I wish the press would have left this story alone. Noone would be paying this idiot any attention. But, I'm afraid of the repercussions this is going to have, especially for the military. Horrible.

But, I had a long distance romance, and now he doesn't even respond to my e-mails. We have been talking for almost two years now. The last time we talked on the phone was August 19th. We ended our call in the usual way, "l love you."
But, then, because I hadn't heard from him I was kind of upset and let him know, but then, he never responded to my apologies or anything. I never expected this to go anywhere, but I thought we would end as friends. I never expected him just to drop me like this without any explanation. It hurts so bad. Not that it matters, but he was my first "worldly" friend. And it was nice talking to someone who was totally neutral in my leaving the Witnesses.
This isn't the first time I've had my heart broken. I'm sure it won't be the last. Thanks for indulging me. Maybe some could share some of their break-up experiences so I won't feel so alone.

To new Christians on JWN
by brotherdan ini wanted to make a few comments to those of you that have recently begun to question or have already left the wt and made their way onto this site.
this site is a great resource to learn how others are coping with leaving the organization and moving on into a fulfilling life.. i wanted to write this post because i think reading something like this would've been helpful to me to understand where a lot of people that comment on this site are coming from.
you are going to hear from a wide range of people that have moved on to a diverse range of beliefs.

I've been posting here 11 months now, and still fading. And I haven't even yet decided where I stand on my beliefs. But, as time goes on, more and more, I still believe in a higher power. And I feel the account of Jesus life and ministry to be inspiring. So, thank you for posting this brotherdan.

Jehovahs Witnesses have a lot more mental problems and much higher suicide rate
by TastingFreedom injerry bergman, ph.d. .
the first american study.
the watchtower influence was often not positive, and there was no evidence that it had in the long run helped those who had emotional problems when they joined.

Yes, I have read over these findings before. And I don't argue the point that a lot of Witnesses have mental health issues. But, the Swedish study, as an example, used those imprisoned for their beliefs. Do we know how long they were in prison? I personally know I would certainly not do well physically or mentally under such circumstances.

Tanzania witch doctors
by EmptyInside indid anyone else watch 20/20 last night?
it was about in the country of tanzania how people born with albinism are in hiding, because witch doctors claim that their body parts are potent ingredients for spells.
they cut off their limbs and it's just too horrific to go into detail.

Yes, NMKA, I can't stop thinking about it myself. The story was haunting. It answered my question that some people are plain evil and how far a lot of people take superstitions. We're not talking the number 13 and walking under ladders here.
I wish I hadn't seen it. But,at the same time, I feel for those that are living it.
I did post it in the wrong section though. Sometimes I don't pay attention where I post topics. Sorry about that.
