Yes, I am quite addicted to the show. The fourth season got a little out there, but I won't give too much away. But, I do notice similiarities between the Witnesses and the LDS.

Anyone here watching HBO's Big Love?
by KingDavidwasframed ini just finished watching season 1 and i plan on watching the rest.
i was compelled to watch it because i like bill paxton and i had heard that mormons's and lds (not really the same thing) were similar to jw's.. i was impressed to find that all mormon's are not polygamists and that all lds are not mormon.
i also find a similarity between many of the lds and witnesses that if you do not believe everything that they teach, then you are shunned.

My kitty is having kittens soon and Im stressing about it. Advice?
by WuzLovesDubs inlike i dont have enough going on right now...my kitty is expecting and im not sure when she actually got pregnant but im thinking her due date might be around 5/10.
i have read online a bit about the process and i hope she can handle this.
i made a secure and private kittening box for her and she seems to like it in there with ripped up rags she can pile up into a nest.

Sorry, I don't have any experience on cats having kittens. But, there is a good site to go and ask questions on such as, catster.
And it might help you too,if you call your local shelter and see if they offer any services at lower cost or know of any animal clinics.
And I hope everything goes well, for you and the cat and kittens. But, the best thing you can do after your cat has the kittens is to find a low-cost spay clinic and get your cat spayed. It will save you from more stress and expense later.

Family Worship Night
by cantleave inthe circuit overseer's elders meeting i attended just under a year ago, talked a great deal about the family worship evening.
one of the things that came out was that each family head should get a visit from an elder, in order to encourage this essential spiritual activity.. as i have since faded i was wondering if the elders really did do this?
my experience is that shepherding calls are never really done unless someone has done something worthy of a jc.. so here's my question for all you guys and gals that still suffer meetings, have you had a visit from your group overseer, specifically encouraging you to make the most of family worship?.

Unfortunately, my hall does make sure to visit everyone. Every month they assign various brothers to visit about five families in each service group. It seems it is my service's groups turn to be visited. I was relieved to not see my name on the list to be visited. But, I do get a visit every other year it seems. They basically have planned what they are going to talk about. But, I'm not really up for a visit now.

and therein lies the issues with leaving.
basically, people leave in three general ways: 1. they, like myself, resign or leave due to a disagreement.

by gutted ini really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

I saw Coldplay last year and they are great live, lots of energy. And I'm hoping to see Tim McGraw this year. Brad Paisley always puts on a good show. My musical tastes vary. I used to go to three or four concerts every summer, but now I'm cutting costs and have to be more selective.

Jehovah's Witnesses---A Religion That Frowns On Everything!

you can't hold hands with your spouse during prayers.. you can't wear a logo themed tee shirt when doing menial outdoor work at a "quick build" kingdom hall.. you have to wear a suit and tie or a dress when visiting a watchtower factory.. you can't enjoy an older recording of a favorite talk and pass it around because "the faithful slave" disapproves of that.. you can't further your education with college.. you shouldn't want to get married or have children as the end is soooo close.. they suck the life and enjoyment of people.....and i've only mentioned a fraction of things jws frown on.. .

All these rules make me feel claustrophobic. You can't talk to your closest friends or family if they are disfellowshipped, unless you want to be too. NO R rated movies, no facebook, and no large gatherings, and no friends outside the org. And at my hall, no stopping to read the information board during the meeting and don't chew gum.

Single. I think most people in the end, just want to find someone who gets them, to feel understood, and validated. And on that note, I'm really not looking now, I have to figure out how to get out of a cult, sort of a priority right now for me. lol. Plus I'm fighting with Aussie man. Don't ask.
