my son and i are agonstic.. so the rest of my family are baptist , methodist or jw.
dead, but the question that come up what kind of send off will i have.. i have one relative who is baptist minister, he and i have had many talks in.

I would think at an agnostic or atheist funeral, they would just talk about their memories of the person who died. No need to make reference to religion at all.

Hi King of George, to answer your question. Yes it is in print. I just looked it up.
I found a question from readers talk about Luke 20:35. And the article is in the 87 Watchtower,page 31, June 1,1987. And I'm sure that isn't the only one. I remember the Circuit Overseer talked about it too.
I haven't seen a recent article make reference to it though.

Oracle,I'm doing pretty well on my fade. No more service and hardly any meetings. I just had to be around some Witness friends because of a funeral. It is hard when you still have a few close Witness friends. But, I can slyly bring out points to make people think. I wouldn't be able to influence them either way if I just DA'd ,although tempting. And I could still get df-d for some "brazen" offense.

Well, I'm not going to let anyone stop me from living my life from here on out.
And I'm sorry I don't have any special scoop from the elders school yet. But, I find it interesting, that according to the Biblical account,Jesus first appeared to women after his resurrection. But, sisters, are too unworthy to touch the new elders manual. Oh, well, we're just "a hank of hair and bag a bones anyway", right brothers.

I don't think most Witnesses go along with that understanding of no marriage for resurrected ones. Even when I was super spiritual,it didn't make any sense to me. A lot of things didn't make any sense. I can't believe it took me this long to wake up.

And the appeal committee agreed with him,but they could only give their recommendations to the original committee. But, not overturn their decision. This doesn't make sense to me. I read the new elder's manual,but I must have missed this part.

strange comment from elder at the meeting today
by Evidently Apostate intodays watchtower was especially nauseating but during the study one of them made the comment concerning the big a " jehovahs timetable is not contingent on all nations being saturated by the good news".
the study conductor reafirmed his point and then continued.. wait a fuggin minute!
there are 1.4 billion chinese on the earth and only 40 million profess christianity.

When I brought up this point,the explanation I received was that Jehovah can read hearts. And he knows whether a person would be receptive to the "truth" or not. Well,if that's the case, why wait for anyone to hear the message. I wish I had thought to say that at the time.
