JW earworms
by neat blue dog indo you ever find yourself starting to hum a jw tune subconsciously?
several times while driving alone i started singing one of them, and then i get to an offensive lyric which jolts me 'awake', and i say something to myself like 'no!
if anybody heard they'd think i was a few bricks shy of a load 😆.

We fell once for a hose one...the kind that scrunched up when the water is out...the thing came and was not the size they claimed and the price charged was significantly higher than advertised. It was a total hassle...the 800 number was not real...and the return address bogus. I did end up finding a place to return it along with my letter of scathing indignation. Did find a similar type hose for about half the price from another vendor...it only lasted one season though. So ..... No matter how fabulous the hype I will never fall for those ads again.

Jehovah's Witnesses Came to My Neighborhood
by Juan Viejo2 infor nearly two years i have not seen any jehovah's witnesses going door to door in my neighborhood.
that was not the case when my wife and i first moved here (north central oregon).
in fact, our neighborhood was visited at least once every 4 to 5 months - even in the coldest winter months.

How can they even stand it....to sit around in a car mindlessly....slowly driving in circles....hanging out on doorsteps for minutes on end.....ugh. I quit fs very early on in my prolonged fade.....and prior to that I was criticized because there were drug crime infested zones I categorically refused to go in. I wasn't exercising faith in the angels protection....and I was denying the life giving message to the down trodden. Evil me.

Welcome. Take the opportunity to step away from the religion and simply live your life free from the judgements of people that are no better than you and who really have no authority over you except that which you choose to accept. Work, play...make new friends...live free. Life unfettered by religion is a beautiful thing....and spirituality exists beyond the walls of kingdom halls.

retrospect on yesterday's wt "study" 29.Â
by waton ingo- teach.
par.1 : marching orders given to 500 attendees, none of them anointed, but 11 partakers, jesus taught and served people with an "earthly hope" and the commission to go was not as wt now claims a mandate to the gb members; the os only being supposed supporters.
4) new disciple stops drinking.

My "shameless" relationship with my ex wife
by Jayk ini've thought about keeping this to myself but i'm still confused on what i should do.. my ex wife(never been a jw) and myself(raised in the org till 16)have been reconnecting these past few weeks.
we been divorced for almost 10 years, we got married when we where pretty young, and it didnt last long.. fast forward 10 years, her and i have been reconnecting and things are getting semi serious.. she got remarried, divorced again, and recently broke up with her gf.
so in the past 10 years she has only been with 3 people (including myself) and here comes me "a sucker with no self esteem".

Love is the key to a strong and lasting relationship. Base line question....are the two of you in love with each other? Just wanting a marriage doesn't make it a good decision. Unselfish loyal love .....both ways is the only way it works.
Think about it....if you take sex out of the picture....can you live happily ever after? Reality bites.

Another silly Bible story...this time brought to you by Moses
by RULES & REGULATIONS indoes this silly bible story make any sense after you take off your rose-colored glasses?.
moses comes down from the mountain with two freshly made tablets of stone written with the finger of god.
one commandment on the stone tablet reads '' you must not kill/murder.

The urgent, lifesaving work of Jehovah's witnesses......hardly!!
by RayoFlight2014 insince june 2016 i have kept a journal of my encounters with jehovah's witnesses at my door or in my street.
i'm a a nosey bastard and a bit of a home body when i'm not at work so i don't miss much of who comes past my home or knocks at the door.. will and dill.. they came to my door on a wednesday morning around 10:30am mid june 2016, i was on afternoon shift and had been reading bart ehrman "misquoting jesus".. what follows is the conversation as best i could recount after they left;.
of the two young gentlemen, dillon, the younger in appearance introduced will and himself, he then proceeded to present me with a brochure about world conditions supposedly getting worse.. me: i could stand at the door nodding in agreement if you like?

It is so absurd that they are so clueless about their religion and its history, teachings, etc...back in the 60's thru at least late 80's you had to know your stuff.
As for door knockers...I haven't seen them in this neighborhood for probably three or four years....never see them out on city streets ever either. Do they even do house to house anymore? Seems like it is no longer the thing.....that man with the writers inkhorn must be very bored with no foreheads to mark.

District convention to be held in assembly hall instead of stadium
by NikL inlast night they announced that this summers district convention will be held at an assembly hall.. this is the first time i've seen this happen.
there are a couple of congregations in the same hall here and they aren't going to the same ones.
they are having multiple dates.. the hall they are going to use can only hold 1500 people max.. just wondering if maybe they just couldnt get anything bigger this year or if the falling numbers are playing a part in this decision.

Growing up in the religion the high point of the year was the city/hotel/stadium thing...that was your summer vacation. What a boring syndrome to take that away. But...$$$$$ talks. Also they are downsizing.....sell offs of property, condensing congregations, etc....no more big conventions.... Got a kick out of the comment about the negative effects of a young adult trying to find a partner within the limited groups at small assemblies....inbred dilemma.... Crazy cult.

Seeking advice
by Mizalisa ini'm not a jw, nor was i raised jw.
for the past three years i have been involved with a man who was raised jw, who at first told me he no longer believed as they did, but who, it has become clear over time, has not told his family or religious community the truth.
he has strung me along for years, never introduced me to anyone in his life.

Three years stringing along says much. You have a life to be lived...he needs to come clean and if he truly does not want to be in the religion he needs to get real and honest about it. He sounds conflicted and that is not a good thing. Do think this relationship through carefully.....wishing you the best.
