My letter of disassociation, what do you think?

dear brothers, july 27, 2020. in 1919, the president of the watchtower society made a bold prediction, “millions now living will never die”.

that quotation was constantly repeated by the organization till the year 2000 when they realized that everyone in attendance at that assembly, who listened to j.r. rutherford repeat those words, are dead.. that teaching has guided my life.

statements were repeatedly made at assemblies, conventions and in print that there was no career in “this system of things” so you don’t need a job with benefits or retirement, your fulltime job is to “preach the good news”!

I think your letter is very succinct and speaks volumes. It is very sad that so many of us were ensnared in that web and lost years of our lives to it. But we can make the best and the most of the present. Thank you for sharing.

when we were jws , we had to be so careful that we didn’t stumble anyone.

are you comfortable saying that you don’t agree with someone or something even if it appears you are in the minority?

i was bored to death this sunday, and suddenly i remembered that it could be worse if having to attend the public meeting on a sunday, even worse, not being assigned to the sound department, accomodating, being the mic guy, or reading the wt at the platform... then i realized that i hated just "attending" and sitting at meetings, those "privileges" were the only thing i enjoyed and made my last months inside bearable.... did you enjoy these assignments?

I can relate. Lacking the requisite penis for "privileges", I was limited but always a very active commenter at audience partcipation meetings. It made the time pass faster plus I preferred listening to my own rhetoric as opposed to ignorant dribble coming out of others mouths. Also....the ladies room thing....they would pack in like sardines with their babies and toddlers and blab...gossip....the sound system was wired in and the rule was go in do your business and keep quiet and listen on so you don't miss a single gem of precious wisdom...but until some holier than thou ratted and there was a loving reminder from the platform...

In one congregation deep into my fade there was a law that no one could stand in the back during meetings...except of course the future princes of paradise...the loving shepherds....

my mother became a witness right after i was born.

1951. i was indoctrinated from that time forward for 50 yrs.

during that time i did not hear anything about the 2 witness rule as applied to child molestation.

Anything worthy of a judicial committe always was based on that Talmudic rule...2 witnesses. It even takes precedence over Jesus instruction to individually go to your brother and lay bare the sin and work it out one on one.

The total ban on the religion in some countries yes...they pulled the obeying God as ruler rather than man...and kept meeting and witnessing on the sneak. But weren't there countries that would simply restrict meetings and they would have "picnics in the park" to circumvent that?

Whatever...I bet there will be enough KH real estate up for sale...got to have that money siphoned off. My curiosity is what entity is really behind this particular storefront....
