  one of the great lessons this board gave me is the cruelty of shunning by the jehovah's witnesses.

  it is inhuman.

  the toll it takes on a person cannot be underestimated.

  I am a MAJOR extrovert! Always had tons of associates inside/outside the org, and so leaving was hard - but socially, I probably came out 'on top'! A lot of people do end of leaving the org with no social backing...and so they leave a bad situation TRULY alone and without anyone to talk to, bounce ideas off of, cry to, etc. It's SAD!

  Kinda ironic, but when I told my parents that I was getting DF'd, my mom was the most upset. She later told me that she spoke to the elders who made the decision and BEGGED them to rethink their judgement because she KNEW I had a lot of associates OUTSIDE the org, and my NOT being able to associate with JWs meant I would probably never come back! LOL - hahahaha - little did she know she CALLED that one!

  I swear, JWs treat all the 'Bethel' offices like it's taking a tour of the freakin Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon! IT's so pathetic. Taking a tour of these places that really didn't impress me, sitting in a cafeteria where the workers ran around like SLAVES in dress clothes, being ULTRA respectful to those 'heads' of depts who you may have happened to run into in the hallways (and some sisters damn near crying over shaking his hand), the TALK-long prayers before and after meals, having to wear a skirt NO MATTER WHAT or else you are considered inappropriate, all the corny ooooooohs and aaaaaaahhhhs over dumb ish.

  As my girl Whitney says:

  I had a 'friend' (trifflin as she was) that dated this Bethelite from Patterson. That fool thought he was filet mignon - when actually he was lower then the GREASE from frying Steak-Ums! He would dictate to her how she could/couldn't DRESS when coming to visit him...and then he would try to critique us (her girls) that came along to hang out with them! Dude went so far as to tell her IN FRONT OF OF US, that she could not use tampons because he didn't want anything up 'there' until they were married. What the?????????????? He would try to school everyone on Bethel behavior and how some of us didn't represent Jehovah in the finest manner. Mind you we were all baptized, she was a pioneer, and adults.

  NOPE! Frankly didn't CARE what others did or were doing...so there was NO reason for me tell. On the OTHER hand, I was up to my 'dirt' - so didn't feel I had a RIGHT to 'tell' on ANYONE else.

  after being reinstated in 2008, i was finally appointed ms last night.. i am so excited now that i have a certain measure of 'power'.. ex-ms's/elders, what types of challenges come with this priviledge?.

  what will be expected from me?.

  Why do I feel like a Barbie???????

  i said that to my therapist yesterday morning...told her that the best way for me to describe my life was to sum it all up and say 'i feel like a barbie' - cause i do!!!.

  every aspect of my life was controlled: what i am supposed to wear, my 'role' as a female in the cong, getting baptized, going in service, how i'm supposed to act and talk, who i'm to associate with (or not), going to meetings, driving 'certain' cars (no 2-doors), how to do my hair, whom to date and marry, blah blah blah...... when you add it all up - that is a barbie's life!!!

  any girl that has played with barbie's understands that you are purely in control of 'her'.

  ****SIDE NOTE****

  Pretty sad that back when I was little, the only 'black' Barbie's they had were very dark skinned!!! Now they have them in all different skin tones. THAT one matches mine EXACTLY! LOVE IT!!!!!!
