Just curious...how many of you went to the elders and reported to them things that you heard through gossip?
And how many of you knew things that could get people disfellowshipped, but decided not to tell the elders?

Unfortunately, I did tell the elders about others when I was a diehard MS long time ago. I did not "hear" it thru gossip, I observed it myself.

I'm trying to count my tattle-tale moments over 25 years.
I once got an elder deleted. Years later, I insisted somebody else tell what they knew and got a teenage girl reproved.
The last year that I went, I decided I didn't really care and everybody could deal with their own problems.

No - I always thought is was none of their business. I NEVER trusted the elders - especially their wives who clawed everything out of them only to let it be the topic for discussion at the next field circus car group. Confidentiality at its best!
