  The Shunning truth is now out...

  i have been df'd for 9yrs as of july 31 (yay me!).

  so as i have written about previously in other posts, my whole family (parents + sister) made the choice to treat me as if i do not exist, and i have accepted it.

  last summer they made a blatant show of it as our family reunion, in that they would walk right by me and not say one word...prompting our extended family to question their actions.

  I have been DF'd for 9yrs as of July 31 (yay me!).

  So as I have written about previously in other posts, my whole family (parents + sister) made the choice to treat me as if I do not exist, and I have accepted it. Last summer they made a blatant show of it as our family reunion, in that they would walk right by me and not say one word...prompting our extended family to question their actions. Instead of owning the real reason why they ignore me, they have used several different 'excuses' over the years...

  1. She needs to get her life together

  2. It is NOT the religion

  3. Go ask HER why

  4. Don't let her fool you that she is innocent

  5. This has nothing to do with religion

  I have carried around their lies and had to thwart off the questions of everyone in wondering WHAT I could have done to have my own family disown me?! YEARS!!!! But I never had proof of this DF'd policy. There was nothing I could ever show them that would make clear sense - until now. I have to thank JW's for being so stupid and desperate, and making an entire video that clearly lays out the procedure and how JW's are expected to treat DF'd ones. FINALLY!!! I have concrete proof to show that I was not lying all these years.

  I sent my extended family the video with a short but sweet explanation about the real reason behind my families treatment of me. Whether they watch it or not, whether they say anything about it to me or not - doesn't matter. The fact that I was finally able to show them what I have been trying to tell them for 9yrs...and now my family cannot lie/hide behind their excuses anymore. Just like most abusers, the one thing they hate most is being exposed. Now, my folks have been. And I feel GOOD.

  He is the older brother of Omarion Houston who was in a singing group...B2K. Marques was "Roger" from Sister Sister. He too was in a singing group, cant remember the name though...

  These boys were raised JW, but pursued entertainment careers. Obviously SOMETHING moved him to make it official though. Only Jesus knows! Lol

  within those thirty years i have built myself a life and slowly learned to cope with the shunning from family and friends.

  As was already said, FB is not real life. It is cyber world...where people can be bullies online yet punks in person. Models with filters on the web, but ugly as Hell face to face. None of it is REAL. Dont let that pettiness get you down. What does having a df'd person on fb prevent a JW from? Absolutely nothing. It is just games.

  i posted a month or two ago about my recently disfellowshipped sister who was feeling massive amounts of shame and doubt.

  i moved out of my home state 5 years ago so she has come to visit me twice since she has been df'd and she loves it here.

  i am a recovered alcoholic (5 years clean and sober) and spend my days with the most amazing non judgmental people i've ever met.

  Sadly, you can never GIVE people happiness - ot comes from within. You have planted the seed in your sister. Let her water it and help it grow...but on her timetable.

  the wts has gone off the rails and is "unrepentantly" hateful.

  they are blatantly requiring mothers and fathers to disown/hate their own children that they have loved and cared for since birth simply because they don't comply with the orgs demands.

  how is this love?

  This shunning video is a sad desperate clammer to hold onto whomever they have left. Desperate! It is just sickening how they tie being loyal to God with answering your own childs call! If something like that doesnt open peoples eyes, and make them take a moment to THINK (a difficult thing to do in the org) then nothing will...

  Someone anonymously tipped the elders?

  so here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.

  anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.

  and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

  So unfortunately, despite you trying to avoid it, Sh*t just got REAL!

  Your mom is technically obligated to 'tell', and believe me, I know how ridiculous it sounds and the reasoning behind it is so convoluted that it's funny. My own father threatened to tell the elders about my 'worldly' boyfriend (back in the day) if I didn't let the man GO...I mean, come on. Do you know how hateful it is to have your own parent try to force you to tell your private business?!

  CHILD BAPTISM

  it is strange to read the last week watchtower that encouraging child/teenagers' baptism.

  even jesus was baptised as his 30. jws encouraging marriages at an older age.

  but why they are encouraging children to get baptised.

  I remember being at an assembly where a young girl who was 9 got baptized...of course she had a part in the assembly about how it was HER decision, her dedication, she was SOOOO ready. And now, I smh cause I wonder what ever happened to that girl once her hormones kicked on. Lol!

  My biggest argument to my folks when I got df'd and the one thing my mother threw in my face was "you did not live up to your dedication"?! And my response was...

  "I got baptized at 14. I wasnt old enough to date, get married, have a ft job, drive a car, have a drink at a bar, or live on my own. BUT Im held to a dedication to a religion I made as at that same age? Back when all I knew was about reading books from black authors, computers, and having crushes on boys? Please!!!"

  My brother died last night

  i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.

  it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.

  there were six of us, now only four.
